Mine were toothpicks, but now they're actually pretty good (considering). I just had to beat the shit out of 'em.....they had no choice but to grow.

I fucking hate training legs, because it's intense and hard. It seperates the casual trainer, from the serious (IMO).

I used to train in the same gym as a nationals level light wt named John Destefino ( JD). I told him he must have had great genetics for legs and he kinda laughed and said; " Look bro, you think I popped of my moms womb with these wheels?" Your reply was pretty much his ideals as well. His "secret" was to do squats near the end of his quad work, not at the start. He felt that you got alot more leg work in by doing extensions, leg presses and even lunges before you hit squats.You need to leave your ego at the door as your squat wt will be less. I have made my best gains doing that for us over 40 guys , it is a lot better on the back

Mike as you know you didn't look bad overall for an NPC regional show.
Here is my advice: DO THE FLA MASTERS ON AUG 24-25 THIS YR IN ORLANDO.You are close to really excellent conidtion! Why stop now when you could look YOUR all time best in a few weeks??!!!
Come in ripped as possible and don't worry about wt. Your legs are not your strong pt, but if you get them shredded they will look decent on stage. After that use the fall , winter and spring to increase some leg mass and other areas, etc

One thing you guys are good natured, one has to give credit for that

I thought Laura made good improvements this show, and she took the stage with girls whose mothers are probably her around her age, and was not outclassed. Thast alone is a huge accomplishment. Personally, like I have already told her...I would like to see her keep competing. Also, like someone else mentioned in the thread already, I would rather see a girl up there natural, not all geared up with those effects, even if the physique showing/placing is weaker than the geared girls. Laura looks way better to my personal tastes than some masculine looking chick.

You guys are cool, your comments in this thread alone amused me. Keep doing your thing

lol, thanks CQ. It is quite obvious that you can't be pleasing to everyone. I know I worked hard and although I'm far from National or Pro level, I did my best and held my own. A lot of those pictures are god awful and ya just gotta laugh.

As far as the guy in the picture you posted, he entered last year as well. Seemed like a nice guy though.
