With all due respect, since your arms are not even close to 16 inches I doubt you've discovered what your arms respond best to... ::)

Why?

You can squat some nice weight, weight is not irrelevant.

You're right, weight is irrelavent when you use fake plates.

you guys must have something in your water in the usa or smth
i havent ever seen anyone curl more than 60lb and even that was some fat ass all drugs guy with horrible form (there arent that many juicers around here)
the max i curled is probably 45 for 6 or something. usually i train with light dbs 25-30 just to feel the muscle and the pump slow and controlled, i find working with too much wait produce little results

When I used to work out at Golds I saw a lot of people doing sloppy reps with 60's and 65's. That was about the limit. Of course some of these blokes were pretty big.

The Getbig troll "Man Of Steel" claims to curl 110 lb dumbbells--with one arm. :-\ ::)

You thinking that's impossible says a lot about your "physique".

why is it a useless question?

Because it encourages people to lift more than they can reasonably handle with good form.  And when you lift with poor form, your progress will be for shit.  (not to mention you'll probably injure yourself)

Like Bob Chick says, "It's not how much you can lift, it's how much you look like you can lift"  (btw - that's the only time I'll ever agree with bob on anything)

Hope this helps.

Absolutely true, but you can't rely on low weight alone to grow.

I usually curl about 65-75 lbs on the straight bar or ez curl bar. I always try to use perfect form and do them slowly.
