You left out one very important thing about Sacto. THERE AINT SHIT TO DO HERE. Thats why I said hour or so (if you avg. 85mph) you got SF and hour half/2 hrs you got Tahoe. Really the only fun thing here in Sactown is Sac State where I go. And to get there I take the fucking 50 in the morning but before that I have to cross down Sunrise Blvd the most congested fucking Blvd in all of CA no doubt. Lucky for me Rugby practice at 4-8PM ensures I have no traffic on the way back. And the 80 is always fucked no matter the time or where you're going. But I dont mind that shit, its a nice place to live.

BTW we got hundred+ degree weather and I dont have a fucking AC in my car bahahaha So I drive with my windows down and my whole left side gets tanned...like negro dark and my right side is never able to match it no matter how long Im out in the sun. I got a fucked up tan all spring and summer.

ehehehe   i hear ya man!

I live in Fairfield!   ;D

I'm from Canada; my friend there was just telling me a couple of days ago how sick she is of a maximum of about 4 months of nice weather followed by winter. Weather's something like that in northeastern US cities. The other thing is that Canadians are generally nice but not warm people, a little stiff & smug thanks to easy living yuppy lifestyles & british/french slight hints of stuffiness. Something like being in New England, not quite as severe as Connecticut.

So it's a trade-off; they've been sailing along without a recession & many jobs for many years now while we're under the leadership of idiots in the states, but the weather sucks and there's that typical Canadian aloofness, especially in places with a lot of english descends, like Toronto.

The best places to live would probably be British Columbia because the weather's not as severe and because they have more in common with the states than with the rest of Canada, and Montreal. The problem with Montreal is that besides brutal winters, the city was robbed of it's place as the dominant city in Canada decades ago because of the separatist crap that's led to the relocation of many corporate head offices to Toronto. So there aren't great job opportunities in Montreal relative to Toronto, especially without speaking French. Years of commodity-based growth has resulted in Toronto becoming one of the most modern metropolises on the continent, but is kinda boring despite the size - something like the banality of living in Minneapolis or Boston.

I could never live there, then again i could never live in a lot of American cities either and would choose Toronto over many of them in the cold weather areas.

LOL how do you compare minneapolis to toronto?

Weather in the winter is the worst. Other than that I can't think of anything else that is really that bad ATM.

Canada is a great country to live in. I'm sure the US is aswell, compared to Canada I would never move there.

I've never been to Canada in the winter...always the summer.

But I've never met a Canadian i didn't like.

Vancouver was awesome, Toronto good to.

 ;)

But instead of focusing on Jag.  Perhaps we can discuss why they are moving without turning it into a insult war.

Good call.

I think the most important thing, the major thing that makes the move possible, is that Canadas economy is solid, and it has a very bright future too.

Then all the other parts, such as people being disappointed with the politics of the latest president, and such, it could be triggers.

But unless Canada could offer great opportunities for living and working, it wouldn't be an alternative.

The stuff about Canada being socialist is bullshit. Anyone who can give any kind of evidence of socialism at work in Canada, please do so.

One more thing: Canada has the biggest oil reserves in the world. And Canada has enormous various natural resources.

In all likelihood, Canada will be the "rich frosty neighbor" for USA in the future.

Just like Norwegians are to us Swedes. ;D

Judi,

Please consider this an intervention: Stop doing drugs.
Who gives a shit about drugs, I'm happy if I never see another gas pill add...

And people, there's nothing wrong with Canada.  Of all the places you could find yourself in the world, it has to be in the top list.  99% of the bullshit spoken about Canada filters down from psycho Nazi fucks like Ann Coulter, Hannity and Rush and is regurgitated on message boards by angry self hating righties.

EDIT: And I dont like Canada in the first place. I'd rather move to Sweden and rake in the blonde bitches.

Expand your horizons; Canadian girls and genetics can't be beat. Take a visit to Montreal, always one of the 2-3 hottest cities on the continent. Canada's fairly european in most aspects, mixed with American.

Travel more and you'll understand the comparison; don't be one of those narrow minded beer drinkin hosers i remember so well who think "TO" aka Toronto's the center of the universe. To say you'd never move to the states without having seen most of it (that's obvious) is your typical hoser mentality.

I got some things for you:

-  Nasty dry dusty and very hot summers

-  Congested 50 Tahoe and Reno 80 everyday and on weekends sometimes

-  Too many freaking people

-  One of the highest crime rates in America.

Sacramento used to be nice about 20 years ago.   :)

I'm not saying you should move to Canada.  But Sacramento is not a very cool place.

Agreed; this guy's in a time warp, probably still drives a 1970s volkwagen van. Open your horizons a little.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

U.S. POPClock Projection:   302,509,719

According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the resident population of the United States, projected to 08/03/07 at 13:50 GMT (EST+5) is
302,509,719

COMPONENT SETTINGS FOR AUGUST 2007
One birth every................... ...............   7 seconds
One death every................... ...............  13 seconds
One international migrant (net) every............  27 seconds
Net gain of one person every................... ..  10 seconds

a population of 302 million and we're talking about 10000 people? more people die daily than flock to canada...sounds like canadians have a bit of a inferiority complex.

Oh I know how you feel Berserker. I find the proliferation of gas pill additives on the market annoying too.
Lucky for you, ...it's not a gas pill additive per sé.  :D ( ...ummm,  Additive was the word you abbreviated right?)
It's a combustion chamber treatment, that improves the conditions inside the chamber where the fuel gets burned.

You can see an animation of how it works by watching this video <--click me
It will:
  • provide you with the ability to get more miles per gallon
  • provide you with the ability to save money on your fuel costs
  • provide you the means to reduce your fuel consumption
  • provide you with an inexpensive way to reduce the toxic smog-causing emissions from your tailpipe
  • provide you with an opportunity to earn additional income if you want to make more money

Just imagine that... making money, ...by saving money on something you have to buy everyday,
...and helping the environment at the same time? Getting paid to do the right thing by yourself, and your community?

You can put all your money in the tank, ...or you can use FFi's MPG-Caps, ...and put your money in the bank. :D

In total 100% agreement. The other night I was talking with some Americans, and one guy used the term embarrassing to describe what was taking place. I was so surprised that he used that term. In my way of thinking, I wouldn't care how embarassing something was. If it was a problem that was a threat to your way of life, fix it. There's plenty of time to be embarrassed later once the problem is solved. In the meantime... solve the problem.

It did make me wonder if alot of the 'circle the wagons' mentality is more about embarrassment than it is belief.

Call it research. Talk with a whole bunch of Canadians ...(to get a good sampling ya know)

...then, after spending some time here, ...and knowing how Americans feel about what's happening there,
...you'll be best able to pin point who is inferior  has an inferiority complex or not.  fair enough?  :D

How does it feel to live in a country who is likely heading for extreme wealth in the next 20 years?
