People should wear what is most comfortable for them in the gym. But, generally speaking Gloves are gay. The same people who where gloves also use the Pad on the bar when squatting. It makes no sense really, why should something that makes your workout more comfortable be Gay. I don't know why, it is just Man Law.

I have to wear gloves.  Sometimes the bars are to thick and I need a better grip.  Plus I like my hands to be soft and uncallused.

wow, that sounds dirrrrrrrty.   ;D

Ever heard about "grip training"? ::)

Too many people definitely wear gloves when they don't need them.  Like many have already said, I hate it when people are wearing gloves on leg day; that's some retarded shit.  I wear gloves for two lifts only:  lat pulldowns and deadlifts, and that's just so I don't scrape off the callouses on my hands.  Other than that, who needs 'em.  Just for show and appearance of 'hardcore'.

I'm new to this board, so no disrespect to anybody, but who cares what anybody else around you is wearing, I could care less about what kind of gloves some dude is wearing and what exercise he is doing while wearing them, the only thing I am focused on is what I'm training and getting the best possible workout I can each day. Call me crazy, but I just don't pay attention to this crap.

those bums on here wouldn't understand you, man. they'd rather pay attention to somebody else than focusing on their workouts.

I didn't read much of this thread but back in the day wearing gloves was for fags.  Guys loved the calluses that your hands got.  You would peel them when they started hanging and then they would start to bleed.  It showed you trained hard

I agree with you onlyme, i love the callouse look of my hands, my woman on the other hand doesn't care for it too much, but my hands aren't supposed to feel like hers..

Gloves will not really prevent callouses anyhow, they form from pressure.  I dont care for the look either or the fact they would be bactria traps.

wear them long enough and they stink and u need new ones...buy expensiv eharbinger gloves and this cost adds up.

i just go bare hands, it feels better for the grip.
