If you heard a pop I would go see a specialist soonest.
If a ligament or muscle has ripped of it draws back with time making it harder to reattach.
The average GP knows very little about sports injuries

If a muscle tears there is intra muscular bleeding so there is usually bad visible bruising.
A ligament ripping wont do that, but if it rips of the bone completely the muscle usually get a weird shape and pain at the point of insertion.
For safety sack I will would still go see some one.
I would rather hear it is nothing than ignore it and find out it was something and I should not have waited.
If you dont want to go at least get some one to slowly feel up and down your ham string feeling for something weird while you feel for pain and where it is.
It it all feels OK after that then maybe you can take a chance.
