When I was 12 I got my first bowlcut.  Whilst this put me at a serious health risk it did allow me to bench 315.

I've gone up to 550 for 11 reps on squats and over 600 for similar reps on deads. I agree that it is not good for you i definately did not like how i felt after doing those lifts. I remember my leg cramping up the night after i deadlifted 615 for 11 and that was the last time i did anything like that. I was getting burst blood vessels on my face after every session.

But you do not have to train that way for muscular growth. I can get at least a good response if not better going 60-70% of those weights and doing it slower. You feel better and look better than the average person and will help you live longer. You are only commenting on the extremes of bodybuilding you are not talking about benefits it gives such as self-discipline that goes along with it or not being sick like a normal human etc.

Any death is a tragedy but this is a sport of extremes and attracts extreme personality's. Not many people can walk into a gym and squat over 500 for reps physically or mentally and unfortunately you arn't going to do that and then go and lead a perfectly happy and normal life like the rest of the sheep out there. You're going to want 510 pounds then 520. That's what bodybuilding teaches you but some only want to focus on the negatives. Not everyone wants to look normal and live a normal life in a deadend job living only for their kids. The brightest candles burn the fastest.

Just_a_pilgrim- Awesome post. I agree with about everything you've said. Sounds like you've felt the same shit I've felt before. I still remember getting done with workouts and on the drive home thinking, "HOW THE FUCK DID I DO THAT TODAY", yet managing to top it every week. BTW, those are some crazy lifts.

Regardless of the autopsy results, no teenager should be taking that amount of gear. Just look at the kid's face and jawline. He is gh-ed and juiced to the gills. Curious to see if this gets major media attention.

I had a very close friend years back, but he got very addicted to drugs. He lost all his friends,  I tried to help but decided I didnt want to be the one who finds him stiff in his apt one day. That would fuck me up. So I stopped hanging out with him.  Drug users can be very selfish.

Well on a side note, in HS I was at my freinds house and we discovered a body of some dude who shot himself in the head in the back yard behind my freinds house. Most gross thing I have seen to date. After a while you forget what it looked like.
