Evan Centopani Will Be Mr. Olympia within 5 years....
« on: December 20, 2007, 10:21:56 PM »

Olympia Judge and former IFBB pro Mike Katz opines that 2007 Overall National BB Champion Evan Centopani will soon be in line to garner strong consideration for top Mr. Olympia Honors.

"He is well rounded and articulate. He maintains a full time postion with a titlke search comany, and holds a college degree. He is persobale, and, at Gold's Gym in New Haven, CT., where he trains, he does not ostracize hard trainers or casual onlookers if they have questions or comments.

He takes his sucess along with setbacks with equanimity. He has all the physical goods to go all the way.

And, he does not carry any felonious baggage like some other candidates.

End Mike's Quote.

I paraphrased this quote from a recent discussion I had with Mike.

I agree. For bodybuilding to gain perhaps a bit more solid footing amidst an increasingly turbulent sea of steroid tumult amongst authorities, more palatable mcompetitors such as Evan will do well in putting forth a superior image.

Mike is/ was disgusted with some of the recent pushes to award high placings to bb's with very unsavory pasts (and presents).

Yes, yes. I know some will defend whom you know I am referring to.

Guys like Arnold DO NOT want nationally chroicalled felons and general scaliwags to wun his ASC crown.

I am telling you.

Guys like Evan are the future.

The scaliwags will not be.

Mike

I don't get the flowery language combined with missing letters.  Was that typed or is that your opinion?

Well, first alkl of, if they are using, they are ALL commiting felonies.

Like I said, 3 to 5 years and he COULD be ready.

NO to Victor.

I am telling you, I have heard this first hand from some very big horses mouths...he simply has too spotty of a track record and integrity that is poor, non-existent, or spotty at best.

There is too much of a pandora's box to potentially be opened, at the risk of sponsor's losses, to have him as the world's top titleholder.

I know it seems unfair, but that is life, as you know.

Dexter will soon likely fade, Wolf is spectacular, but his utter l;ack of calf development (when comparing to his otherwise stellar physique, could prove too heavy of an albatross to remove from his neck.

I say be ready to see Evan replace Jay in due time.

I could be wrong, though,

Best regards,

Mike

Hi Evan!

No, I am a Ct Chiropractor. Many of you know me and are actually my patients.

Please be serious on at least some of these posts, friends. Not everything is a joke, you know.

Mr Olympia in a few years... i don't know.

But if he stays smart and patient he should look amazing in 5 years or so.
No doubt about it...

Sorry about my writing style. That's how I write. As long as you get the message, please forgive my flowery prose.

Missing letters...relax, friend. I am not bothering with spell checking and I write a lot of this between patients. So it gets sloppy.

My opinion, and Mike Katz's very astute opinion.

To a degree, no, it doesn't.

An old axiom from war:

"For the good of the many, sometimes the few must suffer."

So, yeah, maybe some think a guy who is best onstage should be the top vote getter.

But that is very often not how it turns out.

Could you blame a sponsor for nixing a first place-caliber guy if, when he does annex the top spot, comes out with all of these convictions and legal problems, and then they can hardly advertise/capitalize on their "investment".

Fair...maybe not.

Good business sense...yes.

Best thing is to not sponsor the worst guys at all.

a good business sense would tell anyone to get away from bodybuilding.  Just cause one guy got caught, doesnt mean they're not all blatently guilty.  The only reason govt leaves the "sport" alone, is cause nobody cares.

I agree with you, partially.

BB is not a great business venture for anyone on the periphery of it. Different if you are a bigt supp company, maybe, to sell sugary-solution protein powder to uninformed youths,.

However, there are those who "care". The IOC states that BB is the 7th largest participation sport in the world.

So, with such high numbers, there will be interest.

Why not?

I have nothing to hide. Sorry, I am unfamiliar with the proper posting 'decorum' on these threads.

And, please, I am not hear to cast aspersions at others overt meaningless intricacies such as posting my name.

For instance, when I meet someone for the first time, I shake their hand and say, My name is M ike.

You know, common courtesy.

Hi Adonis!

No.

I am Mike, from Connecticut. NPC judge, competitor (25 years) and promotor. Also a chiropractor.

There are plenty of those on this board who are my patients and can vouch for me, not that I care if they do or not.

Salute to you, my friend,

Mike

I think I can get Evan to perhaps post here for a bit.

Any interest? We'd approach him respectfully, I'd hope...

That'd be grand. I will ask him,

Mike
