The overnight Nielsen ratings are in and American Gladiators scored big with an estimated 12.04 Million viewers (5.9/14) throughout the two-hour premiere episode for adults 18-49.  They were fourth among all TV shows behind Desperate Housewives (19.77 Million viewers), 60 Minutes airing the Roger Clemens interview (17.86 Million viewers) and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (12.66 Million viewers).  Tonight NBC will air AG’s second episode at 7 p.m. central in it’s main timeslot from here on out so we should definately get a clearer picture of what ratings will actually be.

That part was a cut and paste actually. The show did good, but it didn't win its timeslot. That being said, nothing would have beaten the season finale of DH.

Last nights episode was much better, the competitors were a little more likeable, ill season pass this on TIVO for a guilty weekly pleasure ;D

I finally watched the premeir and I thought it was pretty entertaining.  I used to LOVE that show when i was a kid, but I don't remember it being quite so.....gay..... maybe I am just remembering wrong? 

Also, did I spot TRE in the audience?   :D

Agreed that the Monday show was much better.  Still a little too much emphasis on the contenders' life stories, but from my viewpoint, the editing seemed to be a few degrees simpler than we saw in the Sunday episode.  

Of note: my kid (age 5) LOVES it and my wife has found the contender she's gonna stick with throughout the season (Siene).  

If my memory is correct, it's going to be on against PRISON BREAK starting next week, so it'll be interesting to see whether AG can get up to that #2 position in the time slot again.

Definitely not my finest moment - they make it look like I'm all concerned for Fury who just fell in the water, but in reality, I'm asking her why she didn't CRUSH that little chick out with her quads.  My only concern was why Fury didn't squeeze her to death!

It was one of the competitors...she swam right into the metal bar for the fire cage in the pool, it looked like it hurt lol.

on sunday night one of the girl competitors was swimming under the fire wall thingy and came up to quick and hit her forehead on the metal pipe.  It was bleeding pretty good down her face but she still finished but lost  the eliminator
