A co-owner of a Bay Ridge pharmacy who was caught in a steroid scandal last year that touched the New York City Police Department was found dead Monday from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound on the floor above the drugstore, police said.

The body of John Rossi, 56, co-owner of Lowen's Pharmacy, 6902 Third Ave., Brooklyn, was discovered about 7 p.m. by a store employee, police said; he was last seen alive at 4 p.m.

Rossi was dead from a single gunshot wound to the head, and a .380 caliber handgun was found near his body, police sources said. A source said there was a second gunshot wound to the chest but authorities maintain it was a suicide

...because when you take a bunch of tablets, some nosey fucker can find you, call an ambulance, then at hospital they put a bunch of charcoal down his throat, he throws up a lot, feels better and starts talking again. only this time the feds grab him and put him into witness protection, where it it suddenly gets very difficult for him to...err, kill himself.

well, i've never had this shit poured down my throat but they tell me it aint a pleasant experience.

ingest a couple of litres of charcoal after your meal or just stick your fingers down your throat. hmmm, let me see....

besides, grossly fat people are usually lazy people and i doubt they could be fucked doing either. much better sitting back in the afterglow of a rich moist ~~pussy~~ chocolate cake than a charcoal or bile aftertaste.

Are we sure he was really shot two times? I don't believe that part of it. I don't think the M.E. would have signed off on that being a suicide.

Are we sure he was really shot two times? I don't believe that part of it. I don't think the M.E. would have signed off on that being a suicide.

Maybe he shot himself in the chest and missed his heart, then decided to do it right and gave himself a head shot.

Deputy Police Commissioner Paul J. Browne said in October that there was no indication that the six officers under investigation were involved in selling the steroid drugs.

"We're looking at this as a possible case in which steroids were taken for personal use," Browne said at that time. "These officers will be subject to disciplinary action, not arrest." Since then five of the officers failed drug tests and were subject to disciplinary action, police said today.

How fucking hypocritical?!? Slap on the wrist for the cops but death for the dealer..

don't know the case but, i'd say it's because they weren't found in possession of illegal drugs therefore there is no criminal offence.

it's like if you failed a drug test at your employment and then you were automatically charged with possession. it doesn't work like that.

BUT

There should be an ethics violation which results in beinf fired.

If a teacher works as a stripper on the weekend, she can be fired for it. It violates the higher ethics clause. As someone with a higher responsibility in society, you are expected to not do some things.

If your kids' daycare teacher spent the summer being arrested for, then beating a crack addiction, you wouldn't want the school to re-hire her when school started. If your kids' high school drivers ed teacher got 3 DUIs one summer, you couldn't have him teaching your kid in the fall.

A failed drug test does not constitute evidence of being guilty of "possession" in a criminal trial. As someone else said, "that's not the way it works"... they have to catch you with the actual drugs. Rules of the game.
