Bush (a standard religious-right doofus) is not the kind of Republican Pennsylvanians warm to.  McCain, on the other hand, is.  Also, Obama's race could work against him in PA...  a lot of the Dem base in western PA are white blue-collar union workers, not liberal elites.

Missed this the first time.  Yes, there is some truth to what you say.  But I'm optimistic, and you're a cynic.  And that's why I support Obama, and you're having to make do with McCain.  Obama's had some success with unions, and I'm hopeful that will continue.  Besides there are some signs that he is gaining more support among the blue collars. 

In any case, right now he needs to be in your neck of the woods kissing Hispanic babies.  Hope that's on his agenda.

At the time, if you voted against the war, you were a far left wacko. Obama's trying to play that hand but I have more respect for Hillary for her vote. It didn't work out well, obviously, but I have more respect for those who voted for it than against.  He would be extremely weak on national security as he would want to be the Bush alternative, hence leaving the door wide open.  Quite frankly, other than being a great speach giver, I don't see much substance.
