When I compete, I get low enough bodyfat and don't do any of that crap. It's nonsense and I come in condition each show. If you get shredded, you're shredded. When people say they looked better the next day and that they were holding water at the show, it usually is the water they drank that let them fill out. I never watch or read interviews after a poor performance because it will either say "I peaked too soon", "I came in flat", "I was holding water". The first one can't be fixed, but the second two would be changed if you DRINK some water. When you carb up for the night show you should be drinking a bit of water too, you'll look flat if you don't get enough water.
