nice response resort to insults .....
yes, it was a nice responce, to his insult

- do you take insults without replying?
Easy there little bud.. Why are you getting so hostile? Here is an idea. You and Dante sit down, and see who has more knowledge about bodybuilding. I'm talking all facets of this sport. Needless to say, you wouldn't last 1 mintute son. Buck up and start being mature. But then again, this is getbig.
ok pops

i'll do that.
funny how you know nothing about me yet make judgements about my knowledge?
here's something to think about - do some research about a guy called ironman - this guy invented a super workout, with great ideas, that many tried and got great results from. Many swore by it and said they made the best gains of their life on it. This guy had spent quite some time building up credibility and respect for his ideas. his threads were huge - not cycles for pennies huge, but still huge.
then he pissed dante off by disagreeing on something, dante took it apon himself to ehunt this guy down (a bit like he tried with squad not long ago) - he traced this guys i.p. and discovered he was a newbie, who just a few months earlier was asking the most basic of questions on sites all over the net - dante outed him as being a liar and stealer of other peoples ideas on pro muscle and ironman site. the guy vanished and has never been heard of again., most of his threads were deleted - not all, but most, as the people who listened to his theories were made fools of.
now tell me, if dante never found out he was a fraud, he'd be the new doggcrapp, his ironman hit as it was called would be the workout of choice for thousands of bbers everywhere.
and guys like you would be telling people like me who question ideas to buck up
Bro I know your Mike Mentzers biggest fan and you have a seizure anytime anyone dents your heroic love for the guy. I have never ever read a Mike Mentzer article or book in my life. After talking to Dan Duchaine about the guy back in the day and hearing things like "The guys a bonafide nutjob, drugs upon drugs upon drugs with the most addictive personality around to just about anything put in front of him, "caught in front of golds in his underwear", rumors of "drinking his own urine", wandering the streets in a complete daze drooling".......I didnt really think much of the person to look into his literary works. I dont have to label what my thoughts are just because every HIT disciple out there thinks they OWN anything they percieve as low volume. I am not even low volume. Ive said this too many times to count (cut and pasted below). I just dont count warmup sets--its that simple.
(cut and pasted)
If i got a big superheavy who is advanced and needs work on his chest
he might do something like this
incline barbell
135
185
225
275
315
365 x rp
then widowmaker exercise
flat flex press
135
185
225 x 24
thats 9 sets if you want to count it like most do
when i see Chris Cormier doing this
incline barbell
135
225
315
405 x 6
flat dumbells
100
130
150
Pek Dek
100
140
175
thats 10 sets--whats the difference--noone would ever say chris cormier does low volume
It drives me nuts when people try to categorize this as low volume or HIT---It is what it is and it sure as hell isnt HIT
I could just as well count warmup sets like everyone else does and it would change the mentality of the whole thing over the years"
Rest pause? Read about it in a Weider book on bodybuilding back in the day = 6 singles with maximum weight. I started breaking up sets in the early 90's starting with about 2 breaks and went up to about 7 of them before settling on 3 failure points on the way to 11-15 reps being the most productive. Has absolutely nothing to do with Mike Mentzer, nothing. Not even remotely close. I dont have much of an ego so thinking back I thought whats this most like? It seemed most like rest pause training as described in the Weider book back in the 80's so Ill just call it Rest Pause training instead of "Dante's patented 3 failure on the way to 11-15 reps training"....I dont give a crap.
IM sorry man but from what Ive heard, I think your hero was 2 hotdogs short of a dozen eggs. MG told me he hired him back in the day and the guy wanted him to hit one bodypart once a month or he would overtrain. WHAT?!?! Holy OCD. Train 12 times a year? IM the complete polar opposite of that. I want someone to train bodyparts as often as possible.
Stretching? Hell yea--Parillo all the way---no doubt the forefather of that. Absolutely and thats why you have seen me repeatedly quote Jon Parillo's name in print....as recently as Flex magazine and Musclemag Int'l but I guess you missed those issues with your daily prayer at the Mike Mentzer shrine. I believe in progressive weights and warming up thru 135 225 315 405 etc (whether it takes 3 or 55 warmup sets) to get there and I dont like to count warmups--yet believe in going all out on the last set.....and your hero doesnt own the rights to that (every bodybuilder who has ever trained hard owns the rights to that). Mentzer does own the rights to drinking his own urine though, and stumbling thru the streets in his underwear.
mentzer was a legend, an outside the box thinker, a gentleman and a champion.
you are nothing but another ironman, and you know it, you just got lucky there wasn't a getbig back then to expose you for what you are.
