Depends on who is asking the question in the poll...If the guy in your avatar asked me the question i would quickly without thinking, answer no....I voted yes though which suprised me...I was honest with myself though...Some introspection is needed...

If you lived in Alabama, in the bible belt, you might answer yes too because you get so sick of the fundamentalist christian beliefs around here....My inlaws are so religious and when you differ in opinion on religion, they fire down the mountain from upon high....Oh according to my mother inlaw, did you know the bible says races can not mix? Did you know that the earth could not have been around for millions of years because the bible does not say so?

So i answer yes to the poll out of frustration and anger....

yup, a doctor was casting out demons, I kid you not.   I would have readjusted their thinking but would never do anything that would disappoint my mother and I didn't think she'd like seeing me in prison, actually I know that would torment her soul.  It was very confusing and frustrating.  On the day they did this, they basically took her from the house, lied to us and said they were going to give her a nutitional iv and we went nuts when she wasn't back after hours.  Then we found out what they were doing.  It was pretty much over for her after that.  I guess at one point she begged to leave and they said it was the demon... That was from one of my "believer" family members that participated...

And just that morning we had a good laugh together.

When someone has a strong opinion on a topic or believes with conviction a certain way...not only regarding religion, they may came across, unintentionally as being smug or unreasonable, perhaps even condescending when you present your view to them. This is easier to see in person.

On a message board though there are always those who like to project themselves, their image, as being more intelligent, more wordly than they actually are. They can research subject matter, formulate what they want to say, then post it. Having an actual conversation with them would be much different. They tend to talk down to people, trying to make them feel stupid when they post.
