So, anyone here has ever tried it?
results?
Personaly i stick to normal diet - cardio.
i have tried it.
i used it last year during a prep, and followed it to the letter.
it is an no- brainer type diet. like crusie control. you eat the same foods, every meal, every day at the same times, unlike say a carb rotation where you have to balance carbs/ protein on given days and make caloric adjustments depending on how much of each nutrient you are taking in on that day. probably the most user- freindly diet you will ever use, really.
i found the three days leading into ketosis were the most difficult, after that the cravings and lethargy associated with a typical low carb or even carb cycle were non- existent until about the 3-4 week out mark where your body's demands for energy cannot be fed from fat stores as they have become depleted. strength was good and energy levels very good until the 3 week out mark as well.
i also found that by staying in ketosis instead of taking the advocated carb-up on weekends accelerated fat loss.
the only drawback is that i could not fill out on the 60 grams of carbs over 6 meals that he says should fill you out. being a larger competitor, i am more used to around 500-700 grams of carbs over the 3 days to fill me out. it took a good 2-3 days of grazing after the show to fill out to the point where i was satisifed.
that being said, i would recommend if you try this diet to go into ketoisis, glycogen deplete yourself for several days and see how long it will take you to fill out once that depleted instead of waiting till the week of the show so you know better where you stand.
if you have any other questions, post them up.
