beyond a certain point, it is too difficult to go superheavy on dumbbell militaries- it is such a pain to get them in position. Better to just switch to a barbell or a machine

i have cleaned 110's from floor to shoulder then sat down on bench and pressed.

Yes its tough though i have been doing it that way since i could only press 60's so im used to it and its made me stronger

If you would have bothered to look at the bench (incline) on the right side of the pic, you can see the difference. (I can't believe I have to explain this ::))
The bench you are using is correct , but you are not,you have slipped foward turning into an incline press.

dennis wolf do half reps from chin to above his hair smith machine

frank mcgrath do them from mouth up to full straighten arms smith machine

branch warren do them free bb very fast from bouncing at his chest to almost straighten arms

charles glass got his clients do them from nose to fully straighten arms in the smith, but with elbows to the front

dorian yates do them from chin to fully straighten arms in the smith

lee haney did front bb presses from under the chin to fully straighten arms

i hope us getbiggers can agree on how to do them so we can teach the pros the right way

How can I "slip" further? the seat is only about 8-10" if I slipped any further I'd be on my ass.

Outta all the guys you listed, tell me who's shoulders are the best?  Wolf's style keeps the pressure on the delts.  I believe Ronnie also did this.  I'll work triceps on tricep day.

Then you must have your ass off the bench then pelvis thrusted foward as from that pic you clearly are working your chest more than your deltoids...
Keep your lower back hard against the back rest then you will be doing a shoulder press .

hope that helps  :-*

alot of the muscle tears that we have seen in pro bodybuilding is due to training with limited ROM (combined with AAS use ...which increases the risk further)). full range of motion (in general) is alot safer for the muscles.

the hammer recommends limited rom as used by dennis wolf

True heavy is relative...However in general 100lbs for reps with full ROM is good for 185lb plus guys.

85-90'9 pretty good for lighter guys
