A better test of bodybuilding's popularity among women would be the percentage of the readers of bodybuilding mags like M&F, Flex and MuscleMag who are women. I would bet it's under 5%.

The reason I go is to see the Fitness comps.  At the last O they had men's prejudging during the female night show.  2 hours of it.  I did not care for the new schedule but I'm sure some like it.

I used to buy M&F before Oxygen Magazine was available.  Certain mags like "Shape" and "Fit" just aren't very good imo.

 Quick story for you, danielson. I was at this show yesterday in Chicago. One of my buddies was competing. He's often seen in Muscle & Fitness in photoshoots etc...He's a nice looking cat and has the physique to back it up. Okay?

 So yesterday at the show I'm standing there and all a sudden I hear a loud smacking noise and a ruckus(can you describe the ruckus?), I turn around and I see my buddy all bouncing like a boxer with his dukes up and see this tall, skinny, bald guy with a bushy beard with a camera lying on the floor. The herd didn't want to be disturbed so people intervened and the weird creepy fuck on the floor laid there twitching.

 The promoters run over, there's confusion the whole 9Yards. Turns out the prick who got knocked the fuck out was a creepy schmoe fa gg ot. He e-mailed my guy a few times very recently asking him if he could video tape or takes pics of him jerking off. My boy always ignored the e-mails but the fucker flew to Chicago from Louisiana just to see him and re-propostiioned him but upped his price to $2500. Cash.

 My guy ended up being able to compete after a talking to by the promoters. The creepy shcmoe was picked up and escorted out of the building.

 Score one for the us straight guys without a sick fetish!

I'd say it's about 50-50. 
At the local and regional shows (and even alot of the national amateur shows), 90-95% of the audience is friends/family of the competitors and other competitors/future competitors.  Alot of women are there, esp considering how big figure has gotten.
At the pro shows, it depends on what else is going on, but you get a good mix, esp at shows like the arnold and olympia where there's all kinds of stuff going on.
