I never said they don't have problems with their large muslim population.  However, they have not been "attacked" yet like we have.  Also this is one of the reasons why France had to tread so lightly on the Iraq issue.  Because of their large Algerian and Muslim populations.  It's kind of like us declaring war against Mexico because of their drug cartels.  You know how many stupid mexicans would start rioting in the streets if we went to war with Mexico?  But people are so apt to criticize other countries without knowing anything about their society.  The French have had their fare share of wars.......I can't blame them as a people if they are tired of fighting.  Same goes for much of Europe.  Maybe if America ever has a war on it's homeland it will understand.  And no I'm not French.  I'm American born and bred.  But I'm a human being first and an American second.

Boy you must have been educated in the U.S. public school system.  Do you even know anything about the history of WWII?  We are in a war?  The war on terror is a joke.  How has the war in Iraq affected  the average American?  Have major industries been turned over to support ther war effort?  Are Americans rationing gasoline?  There was a marginal 94% income tax rate during WWII to help the war effort.

We are not in a war.  Not a "real" war.  That involves every American.  And you wonder why they called it the Greatest Generation.

Are you kidding?  The war on terror is a joke, but about 3000 people were killed in a terrorist attack on 911?  No one is comparing WWII to 911, but that doesn't change the facts:  we were attacked on our own soil by foreign terrorists who likely planned it for years and are likely planning another.  That attack brought our country to its knees, even if just for a short time.  It had devastating implications across the country.  

I will say there is one comparison between WWII and 911:  the innocent civilians who died are equally dead.

Americans are not hiding in forests, not scrambling for food, not being bombed and killed by the thousands every day, not watching the sheer destruction of their infrastructure, not fleeing with only the clothes on their back, separating from their kids to try and save their kids lives...for years and years....the list is endless.....

Which is entirely why much of the world, especially Europeans, are far less enthused about war as they know what it really is - not sitting in their house, kids safely in bed, drinking a beer while their steak cooks watching CNN after getting home from work and saying 'we are at war'
