There is no plan to take away ur tin foil hat and put u in a camp. Another one of u tin foil wearing sheep posted a list of supposed camps....funny every place I'd been to on that list...no camp ever.

"Most of the military are tired of their own government"...um no, again u really have no clue do u. What we are tired of are defeatist liberal pussies not allowing us to do our job.

The military is donating more to Obama than McCain. In the primaries they donated far more to Paul, also non military and not a war proponent.

Interesting that the ex-military POW who is running on being a war hero and maintaining the status quo of perpetual war gets less donations from the military then the anti-war guys.

Sheer facts.

HH6, please you are grasping at straws badly.

You said that last time someone pointed out the miltary donation numbers, and they cut/pasted the proof. Thread a couple of weeks back. It's a sheer fact, and of course ppl have an idea of who the military is giving too, donations are logged...

Reports differ, but all have the same theme - Paul and Obama got more donations from military folks.

Who's grasping....

1,000 of them are listed in Federal Election Commission records for this year — represent a small fraction of the overall contributions to the candidates.

They also keep saying military workers....hmmmm. Everybody they quote from is retired.

Obama got 44 contributions worth about $27,000 and Paul 23 for about $19,300. Republican John McCain, an Iraq war supporter and Vietnam prisoner of war, was third with about $18,500 from 32 donors.

Yeah thats the one I quoted from...again the ground swell of support ur hoping for isn't happening. We all make fun of Obama and his ridiculous foreign policy gaffes.

All the studies/reports say military has donated more to Paul and Obama - whichever way one interprets it - that is what is being reported.

As as for overall financial support, those numbers speak for themself.

Obama has raised about $170 million dollars more than McCain - 170,000,000 more. Fact.

I see you glossed over the 170 million overall that Obama has outraised McCain by I mentioned.

Don't blame you, it is a large difference, hard to explain away ;)

The military as a majority supports McCain.  Service members benefit from republicans with pay increases, increase budgets etc.

Service members are quite aware that they will probably be deployed more often with a republican in office. But for every one soldiers who cries about being deployed ten soldiers want to go.

I just got out of the National guard and my unit deploys to Afghanistan in August, we had more that enough volunteers to fill the ranks.

and when I say volunteers I mean soldiers who didn't have to go but transferred units so they could go. In the National Guard you kinda act as a free agent and can jump to different units and pretty much go overseas as much as you want.

The military as a majority supports McCain.

I'd like to see polling data to reflect that.

Anyone?

dude its a fact the military is very conservative as a whole.  Go down to your local Natinal Guard Armory and ask them.

I'm not an advocate for this war I'm just stating my first hand experience.

Perhaps historically.

But the fact that Ron Paul and Obama's combined total donations more than DOUBLED Mccain's - when the WAR was the chief issue at this time (this is before economy went south) makes me wonder if perhaps there is a 2:1 anti-war sentiment?

If this is the case, can Mccain still be favored?  If 2/3 of the military are willing to part with their $ to mail it to a guy who wants to end the war that is the foundation of the mccain presidency, why would they vote for him?

I think the bigger question is what percentage of the military is willing to part with their money.  Most guys in service are generally young and tight on money.

I would guess that the guys who support Obama really hate the service/being deployed and are more willing to donate money.

This would mean that the serious $ being donated came from military lifers?

That would change your initial assessment that "The military as a majority supports McCain."
A new assessment would then read "the grunts on the ground support McCain, but the experienced and more knowledgeable military members prefer a non-Mccain option at a 2:1 clip"

I actually met that guys who are more desperate to get out of Iraq/military service are more willing to part with there money.

But yes "lifers" definitely would back McCain because the majority of them back Bush

I don't know the exact stats on military donations but I don't see a lot of soldiers wanting to donate to either party. from my experience soldiers are already going out of their way... why give money to politicians.

I voted for Bush twice.  Mccain hasn't won me over, though.

Bush ran on an anti-nationbuilding platform.
McCain is running on a pro-nationbuilding platform.

That irks me, and I'm just a fat d-bag in america.  If I was a soldier, and spilling blood daily for this nationbuilding platform that I didn't support in 2000 and I damn sure don't support today, I might not vote Mccain automatically.

Haha so what's wrong with getting information from the  internet?  There are only three choices..........

1) Mainstream Media
2) The Internet
3) Military/Government complex

Who has the most to gain or the least to gain out of those three by lying?  Profits? Propaganda?
