People on this thread are mixing up concepts and then making moral judgements based on various definitions or concepts. No wonder so many disagree.

It makes all the difference what a child, kid, teen, etc., is. Are some teens kids? All depends on how you mean it.

For example, what is an adult as far as going to the cinema? In Australia it is 13 I think. That is a different idea of what an adult is.

Some confuse what various people look like as the criterion for acceptability. In law that is seldom the case.

There are a couple of issues not discussed here. Would it be okay for a 15 year old teenage lad to have sex with a 35 year old woman? I doubt many would disapprove or call it sexual abuse.

i used to each 8th grade at a poor school.  I had the low math (remedial) class, so it was the worst of the worst.  Classroom full of 13 and 14 year olds.
