True.  But I think the management was upset that he choked in that game against the Giants in the playoffs.

Rogers is good man, he came in for two quarters against my Cowboys last year and lit them up.  I'm 50/50 on this.  Bret is awesome but Rogers is the future.

VG and true post...altho I am anti-cowboys (Can't stand what they did to Tom Landry) ;D

one more deep threat, and the packers would have been in the super bowl.

mgmt passed on a chance to get a threat (walker?) and favre retired out of anger.

Look, sometimes you want to try something new.  You can't tell me you don't see hot girls at the mall you'd like to bang.  Maybe he sees #25 on the Vikings and knows how deadly he'd be passing with a legit runner like A.P. freezing the D line every time.  Maybe he just wants a change of pace.  I say let him.  He's earned it.

Favre's an asshole. He paralyzes the team every offseason with this shit. "Is he going to retire, is he not" It's pretty selfish to keep jerking an entire organization around like that year after year. Man up, make a decision and stick with it. He should have some respect for his teammates and stop trying to shit all over their season every year by doing this.

Good point.  Yeah if that's my tam I go with Rodgers, just on principal alone.  Not cool to jerk the team around like that.

Yes. Our top sportswriter in Greater New Haven recently wrote that he thinks Favre is the most selfish/egocentric athlete ever in the way he has been holding the Pack 'Hostage' every year with the 'will he or won't he stuff...'

And I for one like Favre, just can't figger his deal out here

...a warrior, etc.

Given his recent acts, anyone here think differently?

I do.

I think he thinks it's "All about him..."

and he  really doesn't care about the Packers or his family at all.

i said this when aaron rodgers was drafted a few years ago

people finally agree with me 8)

Think a bit deeper, if you can, "epic" man.

Honor in his decision making processes, and how they effect so very many other people.

Everyone has value in what they do...

from the 'Shit shovelor from Sheboygan'

To the cancer researcher.

Grow up, junior.

Don't cry about it; like brett farve has done many times.

I live right near ESPN.

They have a VERY bad rep here in the community...in bars and restaurants, etc.

When they had that big NBA fracas...where the Pacers players beat up the crowd in the stands....the guys in the studio (Two black, one white announcers, got their faces in my head, don't recall names) IMMEDIATELY defended the players on air and ripped the fans.

They sounded VERY bad and bisased in doing so.

After commercial, they apologized and scolded the players and themselves.

Word was that the head of ESPN called the studio and flipped out and gav e word that the anchors were not to vere be so biased on the players sides...ever.

This was in all the papers the following day.

Beware the spin. I got tons of these stories from my relationships with area press people.

I am originally from Green Bay, I bleed green and gold.  I would hate to see Brett go elsewhere, the Packer organization is making a huge mistake. He is the face of the franchise. He has done so much for the the community and the team, it is sad he is getting the shaft for an injury prone quarterback. IT makes me sick. however I do wish Brett would have not jumped the gun. this is tarnishing him rep, but only for people who are not Brett fans.

I agree with you in a way, Barry Sanders fucked us right before training camp years back. Different situation, but I lost respect for him as well.

Agreed on both counts; most didn't notice and forgot that about Sanders, who i never felt was a team player or someone who would ever be a on a winning team.

I think he retired cause he was mad that the packers didn't get him more weapons, so he retired...

Toughest son of a bitch to play the game..Never missed a game at the QB poistion..

Actually Bradshaw and others were as tough or tougher.

The Packers gave him plent of weapons, bottom line he lost their last game himself with another stupid call. He's incredibly hyped, was never the best QB of any era.
