I spent a lot of time in college, and I can tell you that there are just as many user, fake, chronic bar-fly, impending failures on the female side as there are on the male side. For some reason, the females ones seemed to stand out more to me.

In regards to the 'userness' of young people, in my opinion the overall psychological maturity of American youth has been stunted in the past X years to the point of where socially, the junior high mentality lasts for years beyond what it used to.

Couple this thought with the fact that undergrad college acts as basically adult day-care for a large number of people these days. How many people did you meet in college that had NO BUSINESS being in higher education? Many parents send their kids to school in leiu of immersing them into the real world because they mentally can't handle it.

Wow that is a very good observation about the young child day care at college.  I saw that exactly as you say, there are so many people in college that have no business being in college.  Yeah I think they have been stuck int he junior high mentatlity, good posts all around here, thx for everybody posting.

To an extent religion has a part in it. I know plenty of people who are great and they are not religious. I wouldn't consider myself religious either. Faith is still there. In my view, you live life good, it will be good to you, sure there are hiccups here and there, in general life is good.

I agree, I have met many non religious well moraled people, although they are few and far between in my experience.  I have learned otherwise, that there are many good ppl who arn't religious, but I do believe religion puts a strong moral backing in ppl who do not have one to begin with.

I disagree with the concept that one has to be religious to be moral. Conversly, I disagree with the thought that religion oriented=morality. I used to work with a guy who was a deacon in his church, and was a snake. If you wern't in his church, you were fair game to him and his clique.

Thanks, although I don't like the belief of "staying on top."  My choices, whether good or bad do not make me any less or more of a human then anyone else.  I don't think these trends that are occurring are by accident at all.  It would not be irrational(in my opinion) to think there are powerful interests at hand working to keep the masses in a delusion for reasons I can only speculate.  A few days ago, the sixth man on the moon stated on live radio that earth has been visited by ET life forms and certain higher ups know it.  But some how, Britteny's new fuck buddy this week is more important?

Fantastic thread.  You are clearly a thinker, jt.  (BTW - while I will admit I was raised in a religious environment, I am no longer religious but I am still a moral man; rather than 'morality', which is more basic than people think, I think what you are really getting at in society that is lacking, generally speaking, is CHARACTER - i.e., exhibiting the qualities of honesty, integrity, sincerity, hard work, determination, perseverance, and patience - and CLASS - i.e., good manners and etiquette.  I tend to agree.  I personally think it is equally missing in both men and women born since 1970, as well as a broad grasp of general knowledge or interest in news and politics, but as always, I digress...) 

For the record, yes, statistically women are pulling further ahead of males every year.

To this, I say good for them more than I say shame on men.  Rather than wonder how males can correct this (which I think they can) -  and not because they 'should' because I think we're better than women, but because it's not good when any group/demographic falls behind - I wonder what impact this will have on our culture (what's left of it, anyway...)

Men pretty much ran the show (socially and otherwise) until women's lib 2 generations ago.  Women have since have controlled the process more and more every decade.  I think this is inherently understood...?  Even with their power over the process, it used to be (up until the early '90's, anyway), if you were a nice, respectable, good-lookin' dude with a job, a girl would still talk to you if you spoke to her, go out with you and give you a chance if you asked her, and exes and other guys weren't the factor they are today.  Sure, you still might lose out, but a good man had a chance.  Women nowadays rarely allow men they don't already know to speak to them (even at bars and clubs, which just trips me out because that's what they used to be for, I rarely go out anymore as a result), much less take them out before they totally know you (a process that can take months), and *never* let go of their exes now, as they also keep multiple guys on the hook in case they decide on a whim they don't want you anymore (...like you're a toy.)  Good men worth a damn (like me) often have too much self-respect to tolerate this until they're ready to make you 'their man', and thus, I am increasingly lonely and bitter, but that's how they control the process...

They can reverse it by not being selfish WHORES IN THE CITY anymore and understanding they have biological clocks that tick faster than men.

As for lifelike AI androids . . . I am not a kook and I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but I do read a lot about science, and a respected futurist named Ray Kurzweil wrote a book about this called THE AGE OF SPIRITUAL MACHINES that everyone should read.  I GAURANTEE you, in 100-200 years, THERE WILL BE LIFELIKE AI ANDROIDS.

Not sure what young women you are working with, they are brilliant most of the young women I work with, outshinning all the guys in the group and the woman are always the heads of the group because they are smarter.  This is what my whole thread is about, the young men don't care to even try to lead a group if they were in one with young women, they think its cool to sit back and be stupid and let the women lead and do all the work.
