All we really need to know is that most of the world is medieval compared to the good, old US of A!
What do posts like this achieve - why do you have the need to demonstrate how powerful your Country is?
Just remember history has proven time and time again that no one nation can stay on top forever, it is this very untouchable attitude which leads to the downfall of many great nations.
Everything in nature acts as competing organisms. USA has been bloated for far too long and signs are beginning to show that other hungry, dedicated competitors are looking to take some of that fat the USA has been enjoying.
I love the US but the lack of IQ or intelligence is worrying, look at the idiot poster in this thread talking about medal count, Olympics is determined by winners e.g. Gold medals - no one cares much for 2nd place.
The Country was great and will still be great, but your capitalistic markets are beginning to show signs of Socialism as you bailout more and more weak companies ala Japan in the 90s and we all know how that ended.
It is good to love ones Country and to be proud of it but this constant need to show your superiority makes you look like a fool - how the fuck do you contribute anything great to your nation. Are you anybody special?? Nope just the average Joe clinging onto some dream that just because his Country is great that he is great.
Typical lack of intelligence and understanding of Economics, not even knowing that many states in the US cannot compete with most European Countries on most measures of standard of living.
As for China, why the hate - surely you guys should be happy that they are moving towards capitalism. It will obviously take time for things to change to a real democracy over there, but i can guarantee as the population keeps receiving high quality of education from the West things will change in China.
Human capital is the most important resource over time, and more and more top students will continue to go back home and set up new businesses. As for spending on the Olympic, this is often very good idea to regenerate an Economy with massive fiscal budget - often always leads to a bubble however with high inflation but you fail to recognise that the Country has caught the attention of many large companies and foreign investment. These companies will look for value when the bubble breaks and things get back to a more invest-able level.
I am an investor / trader but if you asked where i would put my long term investments for the next 30 years you can be damn sure it will not be the US. India is my most attractive prospect with its large middle class and huge surge in billionaires - all will add to more and more investment and self made entrepreneurs in that Country. China is a close 2nd after i see some more reform towards a democracy.
Moosejay you are typifying the average American and demonstrating that you lack any class.
