I'm saying if he had any commonsense he wouldn't have said it at all.

No bigmal, I didnt say he was stupid, what I meant was it was a stupid thing to say. Sorry, I should have clarified that.

I may have met one or two that lacked common sense. But "stupid?" No, I haven't.

I've certainly never met a former president of the Harvard Law Review and law professor at the University of Chicago that would be qualified as "stupid." Have you, "Mr. BUM?" Or you, "Mr. WHOREwell?"

I have met more than one person with an Ivy League education who I don't consider very bright.  I have met more than one person who did not attend any college who I consider extremely bright.

Why the swirly eyes bum?

Because it's true?

Let's face it... You WANT it to be about her... You WANT it to be Obama being a big mean old black guy... but it's not.

You're projecting.

Depends on how you define "bright." Certainly, an ivy league degree does not mean you are a genius or well versed on every subject.

Obama was obviously referring to Palin's lipstick comment from the most watched VP speech in American history.  It was a dumb comment.  He should just apologize and drop it.  But he won't, because he appears to be incapable of admitting mistakes.

haha - apologize for what?

What is OBVIOUS to me is that the comment had nothing to do with Palin.

McCain just knows he can pretend to be offended and his less intelligent supporters will follow right along

McCain knows he has nothing to talk about so he's got to muddy with the waters and keep people distracted and to that end, it seems to be working

lol.  Can you do my work for me today too, since you've got my whole thought process figured out?

I stand by what I said.  He was obviously playing off of Palin's lipstick comments from her speech.  It was a dumb comment.  Given that McCain is actually running a campaign ad and the talking heads are all over it, he clearly shouldn't have made the comments.  If he apologizes and moves on, the whole thing goes away.  But he apparently doesn't have the good sense and/or the right advisors to do that.

I probably mean "common sense" more often than not when I use the terms "bright," "smart," etc., although I understand they are not synonymous.

There are a lot of people who think Bush is stupid, not bright, etc. and he has two Ivy League degrees.

So I guess all the women that took it the same way, are pathetic?

Since your so familiar with BB's though process, care to tell us the crowd's thought process of why they laughed at the comment "lipstick on a pig" seems if it was not directed as a joke towards Palin, no one would have laughed at such a "common saying"

maybe they were laughing at the actual context of the comment which was McCain trying to redefine himself as an agent of change.   That is a laughable all by itself.

Careful, you are nearing a substantive topic re McCain's newfound role as the insider's outsider.

We must get back to the joke.

The joke is what is important.

Always mention the joke...and its pernicious effect.

How do you know, did you poll each woman?   (hahahaha)

And McCain's childish strategy makes you happy I see.

Obama was ahead McCain with 8% of White women voters after the DNC, but now McCain is ahead by 12% among white women voters

I still think McCain wins the election by 4% b/c america will not elect a black president.

The notion that Big Mac is even in striking distance of Obama is a testimonial to the intelligence of the herd out there.  It's difficult to articulate the full damage the Bush administration brought to this country.  McCain has run on Bush's 2004 re-election platform....more Bush with McCain.  (hahahaha)  And McCain is going to win this thing.

Electing a candidate that for all intents and purposes is a repeat of the prior presidential failure is emblematic of the substantial decline of our educational system and the victory of our dogmatic on-demand, television culture.

As for the vicissitudes of ongoign polling, I don't follow them.

Decker, I agree, but you also have to notice that neither candidates are talking about education REFORM, Obama is touting that teachers should get paid more, and those that don't perform be fired? I think the schools handle that issue of giving teachers increased pay, and firing the ones that don't perform. We need to focus on science and math more, and get back to increasing thses subjects that we have lagged behind for so many years now...decades. School vouchers, increased pay....all that is hogwash, without a structure in place for the students, then we can talk about pay, vouchers, and incentives.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama and John McCain each attracting 46% of the vote. When "leaners" are included, it’s Obama 48%, McCain 47% (see recent daily results). Tracking Poll results are released at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day and a FREE daily e-mail update is available.

Data released last night shows John McCain opening a double digit lead in Montana. Tonight, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern, new polling will be released for New Mexico, North Dakota, and Alaska. Polling for Senate and Governors’ races will be released at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Presidential polling has also been released for Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Obama now enjoys a 193-186 lead in the Electoral College. When “leaners” are included, the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows Obama leading 264-247 (see Quick Campaign Overview). A total of 270 Electoral Votes are needed to win the White House (see 50-State Summary).

Also coming later today, new data will be released showing public perceptions of the Vice Presidential nominees--Sarah Palin and Joe Biden (data available now for Premium Members).

A Washington Post poll generated comment yesterday by noting that White Women favor McCain. Rasmussen Reports polling has consistently shown a similar result, but it is important to note that there is nothing unusual about this finding. Four years ago, President Bush managed to defeat Senator John Kerry 55% to 44% among white women. Today’s tracking poll data shows McCain leading 51% to 44% among this group. Among all women, Obama leads by eight. Among men, McCain leads by eight.

Well.....I personally think that most liberals lack commonsense, that was just an example.
