I'm talking about 91 Haney and 93 Dorian. 93 Flex could not beat 91 Haney. Like ND said the GH/Insulin combo, or whatever it was, pushed the envelop in those two yrs.  From 93 on bbers went to another level size wise.  There was a difference from the guys in the 70's compared to the guys in the 80 and between guys in the 80's up until about 92 then there was a jump in the physiques.

I think Flex reached his potential but wasn't able to maintain it with his ailment. based on how other physiques improved after Haney retired and his age, I don't think he reached his potential, not even close. I do think Dorian improving and pushing him would be enough motivation for Haney had he continued

Haney was a better bodybuilder and a better role model.

Lee Haney wasnt hanging out with members of NWA or thowing up gang signs when he posed.

Good topic ND, in my veiw Lee had a more matured look to his build than Flex, Haneys only real weakness were his bicep size ( well the judges didn,t seem to think so with 8 Olympias) Flex of course had increadible muscle-bellys fantasic back, biceps, hams,and flare to his outer quads, while on the negitive side his chest size, suspect calves and Actual shoulder width etc... on stage togeather Lee at his best in 1991 ( or 86 is debatible) against Flex in 1993...id go with Haney based on Haneys exspeariance, maturity right though his physquie but that would of been one hell of a showdown those too going head to head.

Agree..Lee had a more quality look to his physique--built through greater muscle maturity= more time in gym w/ greater intensity.... Flex just had the better shape n' structure--- W/ Lee's ethic--Flex woulda been a god

Pure piece of art!!.. He could easily win Mr. Olympia 97 if he reached this shape.. It's strange he never presented one of his best shapes at the olympia (wth the exception of Mr. O. 93)..

as if there wasnt access to growth in the late 80's,, get a fuckn grip....

haney couldnt touch the 93 dorian no matter what he did, haney hardly changed at all in size the whole of his career, and dispite what some of u morons think, he would of been using everything he could get his hands on at that time, including growth

He didn't change size his whole career? he was 233 pounds at his first Olympia in 1983 , his first Olympia win he was 243 pounds and in 1989 he competed at an admittedly soft 257 pounds
