My theory on this whole charade is this:

Mccain was informed by his staff that Palin was proving to be so hopeless with the mock debates and she is not learning anything or capable of it.  Mccain is known to have a huge temper and he himself is entirely frustrated with Palin.  So he tried to suspend the debates in the hopes that Palin could avoid the debates or stall for more time in the hopes that the people wouldn`t have adequate time to pay attention.

They also may have discussed replacing Palin altogether.  Mccain and his aides are clearly frustrated with her and are in damage control.  They don`t know what to do.  They know Palin is ruining it for him even worse than he is ruining it for himself.

A woman said basically the same thing on a Radio talk show yesterday afternoon. She said, it was really the  Palin debates that they wanted postpone, so they used the Bailout as a backdrop to postpone. Damn, this election has more twist and turns than a bad action movie...
