under grip bb rows. I get a better contraction and can use more weight. It just feels more natural to me.

all of them except the t bars, t bars pull on my spine in a painful way so i don't do 'em.

They don't really bother my spine but they've never felt right to me.

funny thing is it's only with the close seated row handle grip, the old style bolted to the floor t bars didn't bother me at all, i think the really close grip pulls on my spine in a weird way, i love both versions of barbell rows and db rows.

as a main exercise...barbell rows(overhand) and dumbbell rows (one at a time) dominate. i like t bar rows as a second exercise. man i love rows.

I've got a really bad back (gotten a lot worse since my hand surgeries) so I've give up on Barbell Rows but I've actually started doing them with the cables. Obviously I'm not using really heavy weights but I feel them a lot & get a great pump.

Under Grip Barbell Rows
Corner T-Bar Rows
Over Grip Barbell Rows
One Arm Dumbell Rows

For "Lats" I like the Under Grip Barbell Rows and Dumbbell Rows.

The Over Grip BB Rows work more rear delts and the "Old School" T-Bar Rows usually have too close of a grip and use too much Biceps.

T-bars, barbell in the corner. I feel them a lot more than BB rows. Everyone is different though...
No doubt about it...

For me, medium curl grip BB rows. Bring the bar into the gut each rep, try holding there for a few seconds. Also have done this curl grip when doing DB one arm rows.

When doing the half row, half Hi-pulls BB movement (just cheating rows for want of a better name...most guy's can use a lot more weight in these), I use a overhand medium grip. Good power and thickness builder for me, anyway. Good Luck.

for those that dont like the T-Bar Row due to excessively narrow grip....

on Jay Cutlers Latest DVD he trains at Muscle Beach and He uses this handle (which is a bit wider but may be a bit less stable)
