Kids are awesome, my boy will be 5 in a couple of weeks and I wouldn't change a thing. I was only 22 when he was born and I was shitting myself about it, thinking I wouldn't be able to cope, would we have somewhere to live, would we have enough money, etc. But as soon as he arrived, it didn't seem to matter.
5 years on and everything is fantastic. He goes to school, comes home and tells me stuff he's learnt, and nothing in the world makes you prouder than that.
Anyone thinking about kids needs to be serious about it. They are a huge drain on emotions and resources, and the first couple of years are very difficult. But the rewards are so much greater than anything you've ever experienced.
On a side note, there are too many idiots and scumbags who just keep popping out kids who they don't want. It makes me sick when there are parents who don't care for their children. Some people are just unable to care for a child and should be sterilised.
