However, this insane obsession with destroying this women and mocking everything she does, every word, every step, anything whatsoever is really ugly and nasty.

The turkey is beheaded. The cone device is used to bleed the turkey. The last few heart pumps help drain the blood into that trough (which is filled with blood in the vid).  That's why the nice man was holding them there so long... aside from being rapt at what Palin was saying.

Again--I really think the entire setup was deliberate and meant to be funny in a kind of self-parodying way.

how do you know? do you know her in real life? how do you know its not just an act like you say it is with obama?

Thanks - seeing those turkeys won't slow me down one bit.  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday - totally non-secular, lot's of good food and time with my family who I don't normally see during the year.  I can't wait.  The only part that sucks is traveling but at least I'm going to Austin this time rather than Dallas (blegh!)

I saw this religious zealot palin as a pathetic choice.  Romney/Rudy were lifetime libs who changed their spots in 2007 to get the nomination.  Mccain was awesome in 2000 but sucked in 2007/8.
