hahahahaa, no kidding i overheard these two skinny/fat nerds int he gym about a year ago talking about one of the gym monsters who was benching 405 for a few reps as they were doing "stability ball" presses with a pair of 60's, "honestly dude what that guy is doing is way outdated and obsolete, what were doing is actually better at building mass"
Forgive me for asking, but are you natural Alex?
of course hes natural, like every human, what you want to ask is = DO YOU TAKE STEROIDS ? right ?
Train Each bodypart every 5-7 days, no more, but make sure you tax it enough to be sore for at least 2daysKeep weights workouts under an hour Do 20 mins cardio sessions every 3 days no matter if "bulking" or "cutting", this will "kick" your metabolism into gear and help food intakeStretch, stretch, stretch... AFTER you train a "muscle" group.Train early in the day if possible; you'll get used to it.Allways listen to music and look pissed while training, this keeps the schmoes away. If someone 'aks' you if you're "using this" (even thought you're standing 50' away from it), ignore it and turn your back[li]Fuck free weights, If a machine provides the same tension, don't waste your time loading a fucking bar just to be a purist; preacher curl machine is the best example.[/li]
Don't wear work boots. 1999-2001 is behind us now.Plastic "gallons" of water aren't necessary as you never drink a whole while training anyway and the next time you use it the water is tainted. Also makes you look like a tool.Don't wear Jeans especially when doing legs. Again, a Tool move.Don't spend too much time on Muscle boards, it affects your judgment and perception.Stay in school.Don't do drugs.Discuss.
Yip Yip. 100 pounds is a 100 pounds, regardlessif it is a round weight or a square plate. your body doesn't know the difference

You are candizzle, no? The stress and range of contraction from free weights is far greater most of the time. Free weights also build more strength.
Some machines work from leverage points so you can't exactly say 100 lbs is 100lbs
True, but now we are talking semantics. how about "heavy is heavy"?
No... but when you put enough weight on it for it to feel like the 100 lbs of free weight, your body is doing the same amount of work.100lbs of "tension" is 100 lbs of "tension".Physics is physics.
You put it much better than I did TU.You dildonic Fuckface
i can agree with the tension bit but I wouldn't always say your body is doing the same amount of work.. a miltary press on a machine vs using the same weights with dumbells is going to be a bit easier because of the stabalizing factor. Now I don't condone stability ball work, I think it's the queerist thing since knee high socks and daisy dukes. Same with doing dumbell shoulder presses standing vs sitting. Standing is alot harder with the same weight.
There are many freemotion type machines that require you to use your stabilizers and they are machines...Todays machines are easily as stressful to the human body as free weights... This is not the days of the "Universal Gym".
SHUTUPANDTRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's an awesome setup you got there tu, your parents basement looks nice.
