So it's a good idea to be using weights which you can't properly handle yourself?
You ever try kicking up a pair of 150's on the incline?

Whatever works for you.....but personally I prefer to know that I have the strength to handle the weights myself.
I don't see getting the weights into position or kicking them up as a 'waste' of energy.
It's just personal opinion and not "advice".

"You don't need to train your forearms!"

I do. Then one day I overhear one guy commenting to his training partner/bum buddy that "he sure does have a pair of forearms...probably has his mother to thank for those though" (ie:genetics) to which I just sit down and continue training my FOREARMS like I've been doing the whole time they've been there.
They just couldn't connect the dots  :-\

I'm probably one of the onyly guys at my gym that do direct forearm work. Helps me in every single lift, especially dumbbell presses and bent-over rows.
LMAO at people that need the weights given to them by a spotter....if you can't lift them up yourself then you're too weak for those weights.

I agree.  Working forearms directly helps tremendously for most upper body exercises.

hahahaa, WTF? ???

It's a gym I use from time to time at a university campus where if you can't lower your deadlifts to the start position in complete silence you're told that "You can't lift that heavy here."
