hey buddy,you know what my problem is?that they call them all turks...here am niederrhein there are mostly russian,albanians and kurds,not many turks but if something happens it's allways the turks you know what i mean?

great adaption into the present times as well. I also loved that Quantum of Solace really makes Casino Royale into a 4 hour Bond-Movie.

Always prefer to read a book before I see a movie version of it...

QoS is a short story, and it has nothing to do with the movie except the title. The story is great though.

It's pretty normal with the Bond movies. A lot of them base on short stories, the other ones only take a basic setting from the book. I.e. "You only live twice", the book is very different from the movie, but both are good.

I actually thought the book had been written, then the movie based on it. Not sure what gave me that idea. But I think the best bond movie, "Goldfinger", is the best because it doesn't vary greatly from the book. A few changes e.g Bond doesn't work for Goldfinger in the movie but very much similar. Same with Casino Royale.

True, same with "From Russia with Love".

The Bond movies that sucked the most are the Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan ones that seem to be only self quotations, Bond-Sterotypes and funny gadgets.

I think it's great that the new Bond suffers, bleeds, fights and works hard. Roger Moore was nearly floating through his movies, the Brosnan ones were relying too much on the gadgets.

I loved Goldeneye but not that fussed on Brosnan's other movies. Bond should be a dark character, which Casino Royale does show. Moore was a parody, don't like many of his movies.

True! Bond is always described as a dark character with a "cruel smile", Fleming also often writes that Bond hates to kill people, but accepts it as part of the job.

Wow, not bad!

The novels are amazingly "modern", Ian Fleming has described a man's feelings as exact as they come. Like in the novel "Thunderball", where in the beginning Bond saves the nurse at Shrublands from being hit by a car and fleming writes something like "He thought of the firm breast he had felt" when she says thank you.

Today, this would be totally impossible to say. You rescue a girl and all you can think of is the touch of her tits. But that's what a man would do.
