This is very true. I've always judged by bar speed. If the first few lifts have little or no "pop" to them, I know it's either a maintenance day or a skip.

Personally, after training for 1 hour and 15 mins i just want to get out of the gym drink my 50g of dextrose+50g of whey protein and go home.

I don't like taking anything other than water during training so i have to keep it short as i can with 2 minute breaks inbetween sets.

When You begin the cut up fase. You wont grow.
My mass was there already 3 months ago(in this pic).

what does a 2 hr workout do that a 30 min workout cant? besides overtrain and make it more difficult to recover?

No. This is what we(paco,me and others...) wants to say.

If you have power of the concentration of god and we can concentrate in 1 reps everything, of course that is the best.
Unfortunately we cant. Thats why we train longer.
We dont try to train 2h on purpose. The thing is: when we notice, 2 hrs has past.......

Agreed. I just don't see how you can be hitting the weights with solid intensity for 3 hours, unless it's just a total body, once a week workout.

If your a natural in the gym longer than 1.5 hours your focus and your intensity sucks. I was so tired and run down all the time from trying the high volume thing. 5 sets of 10 reps for 7 different exercises. I cut off two of those sets and made them warm up's and I do three really hard sets with more weight.

I train close to two hours every workout! However I train two bodyparts a session, about one hour for the big body parts, another 30 to 40 for the smaller ones, the is between sets are longer if you train heavy. So two hours is about right

usually start sippin on dex and whey at the 1hr mark

haha.man I remember training for like 3 hours when I was a teenager.man that was dumb.I vary rarely go over an hour now.
