Yes he is,but he had trouble pulling both his lats out in that show,the contest report in Bodybuilding Monthly said this very thing.The b/w pic you posted is from 1980 WABBA World when he placed 2nd behind Sergio, and you can see there that his rear lat spread was not all that good.The colour pic you posted is from the 87 Olympia,5 years later on from the one i posted.

It was his second IFBB show,he placed 5th in a Grand Prix the previous year,and he over dieted to get the ripped look the IFBB tended to favour,and i think that hindered his ability to hit the pose correctly.I`ve found this other pic from that show,look at how he hits the side chest,one foot placed behind,the hand of the flexed arm is on top instead of below.Now compare that side chest to this one from 1980.

He was in a store with his wife and mom and they were talking about the '83 Olympia. His wife said something to the effect that Bertil wasn't good enough to beat 180 pound bodybuilders like Zane and that's why he got 5th. Bertil lost it pulled out a gun and blew her away. Then the mother screamed at him, "Why did you do that..you freakin' monkey..Shit you couldn't even beat Makkawy and he was only 150 pounds...Loser!!" Of course he shot her as well.
