that was me...all the same guy.

as for hiring someone to teach Mike to pose, I say save your money and instead practice the mandatories & your posing routine while being video taped...NOT in front of the mirror.  This way you'll catch things you do wrong and be anle to correct them...
Ok maybe not hire someone, but run him through all his mandatories and quarter turns.  Maybe a NPC judge down there?  I'm sure they'd be willing to take a look at him.

hire someone to show me the mandatorie poses?!?!!?,isnt it just following the head judges instructions?
"quarter turn to the right"quarter turn facing front" etc etc
no? (all the while tensing all the muscles in the body, even the ones not being called)

Mike, listen to him here.  You could be the best bodybuilder on stage, but if you pose like shit, you lose.

You do follow the head judge, but there are so many tiny details in every pose, you need to learn them.  Just the slightest angle can change everything.

He's right. You could be shredded to all get out, but as soon as you get on stage for the posedown you get a terminal case of the "Paul Dilletts".

I remember at one of my shows we had the competitors meeting and the promoter asks if anyone had any questions or concerns.  One guy raises his hand and asks if he could get a list of what poses they would be calling during pre-judging.  There's always that one guy at the show.....sometimes two.  Don't be that guy Mike.

Aren't we all getting a bit ahead of ourselves...  Let's get the guy to a respectable bodyfat so he'll have something to flex...

Ok, here is a video of mandatory poses.  Let me know your "honest" opinions.  I know I have to work on them, but this is a start.

I think you can see what you need to work on.  Possible Suggestions (aside from cutting up): Lower traps, upper upper pecs around the clavicles, forearms, overall legs including calves, obliques and lower lats.

Front double bicep: Stop bouncing and doing all the...whatever you doing.  Hit the pose and stay there.  Don't move around alot.  Judges need to see you....not see you bouncing all over the place.  Drop your shoudlers when you hit this pose.  Your shoulders are way to high up.  It will make you look broader.

Back double bicep: Just hit the pose.  No need to put on a show.  Rotate your hands back towards the camera, and lift your chest up.  You lean to far forward and it takes away from the illusion of your back being bigger.  Lean back towards the judges.  They are looking up at you and they can't see you when you leaning forward.  You almost have to exagerrate leaning back towards the judges.

Front lat spread:  Lift you chest up higher.

Back lat spread: Just hit the pose and stay there.  Don't hit two, three, four times.  That gets on the judges last nerve.  Also lift up your chest...yet again.  Head up also.

Side tricep:  Wow thats gonna need alot of work.  I'll get into that later.  I actually have to get to sleep.  Don't look down or look away from the judges.  Look right at them.  Smile and act comfortable.

Side chest: Stop moving around so much.

Abs and thigh: Your hands need to further back on your neck.  Don't look down.  Don't take you hands off your and do a intercotal shot.  If they want it they call for it.

And I'm spent.  I have to get to bed.

Just like Freak was getting at, you need to be able to freeze in each pose.

Also I suggest just ignore anything that you before would've taken as an insult. Just try to search each post for anything useful.

Even "haters" can give you a grain of useful feedback, if you are able to penetrate the insults, look beyond the bullshit.

I think the ability to perform a full routine, and doing it while breathing in style, is rarely seen these days.

Few BB's hold their poses long enough either. You will get cred if you're able to hold the poses good.

Arnold always finished off the day with some posing ;)...

After seeing that, you need all the help you can possibly get, Mike...

1) Stop bullshitting around and hit the pose
2) Stop looking at yourself and bouncing
3) Hold the pose
4) quarter turns, turned into 3/8ths, 9/10ths, 1/2s

You have A LOT of work to do, but give it your all, my man
