AWESOME bro!!!!.........(make you sure you A) find Cheri/Laura in the audience and help her yell for me
B) go to pre-judging and the night show
C) introduce yourself to me

I will!

uh-oh.. now I feel I have to get in shape just to see Mike at HIS contest...

this contest prep is contagious...there is no way a member of Team Arvilla can be out of shape...

therefore I must also follow a similar routine as Mike is....

I invite you to either

1) dissect my argument, point by point, telling me why each is wrong.  Then, deliver that many new and insightful points that no one else has thought of...

OR

2) Just keep being a pissy hater.

Drop dead pip-squeak.   >:(   If you have nothing constructive to offer then stay out of this thread Bast.

don't call me names.  I'm just asking how much weight he's planning on losing.  The 250 figure was written on his site, I didn't make that up.

1. What makes you think Mike is gonna significantly improve his legs in a matter of weeks when he's been training legs for many years?

2.  How much weight do you think he'll need to lose to be at contest shape and how many weeks do you think it will take?

He has months to get in shape, not weeks.

Bodybuilders always express it in weeks though.  Even if it's 12, 16, 20, etc..

Too low in carbs and fat.  You have to gradually reduce calories you don't just go from a gaining diet to a strict diet.

1. What makes you think Mike is gonna significantly improve his legs in a matter of weeks when he's been training legs for many years?

Mike has 24 weeks til contest day.  If Mike took 6 weeks- and only trained 4 days a week with minimal cardio- and hit quads once, hams once, and calves twice every 5 days, his body would get a much needed rest.

He's been training 120 to 150 minutes a day, 5 times a week, just weights.  His body will only become more beat up by adding tons of cardio and restricting food intake.

Can you honestly say that a 6-week rest- focusing only on leg mass and healing before a precontest drive- will not help?

What's mike at now? 270?

My best guess is 225 onstage.

At the absolute most he will weigh this much.  Come in shredded and you will do well.  Being a well condition athlete has never hurt anyone.  Don't think about how much you'll weigh come showtime.  Just focus on how you look.

Most people take 16 weeks to lose 20lbs.  You would have him lose 45lbs in 18 (24 - 6) weeks.   :-X

no way.

For the last year: He does zero cardio and drinks a gallon of gatorade a day.

Adding 30 minutes, 5 times a week + ECA + correct diet = success.

Mike will drop weight in the next 6 weeks, training less, and he'll lose a lot of water in the week before the show.  45 pounds total... that means 5 pounds in the 6 weeks, 5 pounds in the last week, and 35 pounds in the remaining 17 weeks.

17 weeks ... 35 pounds... that's 2 pounds a week. Completely reasonable.
