Np's Mike.

Also, word of warning re the flyes using Arnolds form - I dont know what weight you currently use for flyes but you will probably find the weight needs to be cut by up to half initially and then built up, but the good news is I bet you grow from the word go even with the lighter weight.

My heaviest set using this form is still only 65lb DB's.....Ive seen footage or Arnold using 110lb'ers for 12 strict reps - no wonder he had the best chest ever. He also attributes these flyes to curing Franco of his lagging chest in his first book.

wanna hear something fucked .... i could never press more than 100lb dumbells .... but i could easily crank out 10 reps incline flys with 75's or 80's (which is not far off from my incline press).

i dont know why this is .... and i was doing very strict flys with that weight (ie arms slightly bent but the angle doesnt change throughtout the movement and all the way down at the bottom) ..... coinsidently, all my presses with dumbells are done as fly presses(which is how most people do their flies)

wanna hear something f**ked .... i could never press more than 100lb dumbells .... but i could easily crank out 10 reps incline flys with 75's or 80's (which is not far off from my incline press).

100lb db'ls are nothing to sneeze at....most juicers I know dont go much over 120's - esp when they're off cycle.

Re the inclines, sounds like you maybe have strong front delts, or I think a lot of it comes down to skeletal structure which plays a big part in the leverage of any movement. Personally Im so bad at incline db presses that I dont even bother with them, but can use 3 plates a side for12 on incline barbell press...go figure....

Also - I know what you mean re fly presses. I used to do this type of action but got talked out of it by a pro. He said go super heavy for ur first excercise, eg flat DB or BB press, dont worry too much about form, just get em up. The following excercises like flyes and pullovers use good form.

This approach works really well (for me).

youre right about the delts .... even with flys (done strict) they always do all the work. i also have pretty strong bis so that helps keep my arms straighter. i get so frustrated with presses cause i have a bum shoulder and i know i should be doing alot more .... compared to any other movements they are ridiculously weak for me.

the plus size is in terms of bodymechanics delts are alot more useful than pecks IMO... so even though i have no pecks what so ever im not too worried + wide shoulders make me look like i weigh alot more than i do when im dressed ::)

ps 3 plates for 12 is elite .... too bad youre a fag ;D

Seriously - try pullovers with your shoulders rolled back and your rib cage up. Make sure you squeeze your pecs at the top of the movement.

You shouldnt use your delts at all in this excercise and it will help isolate your pecs so that you can use them more for pressing movements. I have EXACTLY the same problem in that if Im not careful delts will kick in when Im doing chest or tricep work so Ive had to work out a way to stop them kicking in during an excercise. And once the delts gets pumped its all over - becomes a delt workout whether I like it or not....

Did you tear both your pecs mike
lol...... honestly i did tear one (trying to bench 500 lbs for a couple of reps, i heard a sound like a wet paper towel ripping, turned purple black and blue real fast, the bruising went way down my arm looked real bad, DR said it was only a partial tear)
