I'm surprised you never figured out how to rebound BEFORE the show.  If you fully deplete and lose all BF 3-4 weeks prior to the show, you can back off the cardio & up the calories resulting in full rebound without regaining an ounce of BF.

Unfortunately Mike is probably not in a position to do this, becasue he'll be scrambling to lose BF all the way up to the show...

I agree with you on this MS but, This is Mike's first show & with only 12 weeks of dieting, It would be damn near impossible to have him ready 3-4 weeks earlier to do this without burning up too much muscle in the process. From looking at your pics(Impressive) when you competed ,am I wrong to assume you have a  natural high metabolism? I don't & neither does Mike, so I have to approach it a little differently, esp with 12 weeks to go. If he does another show next year, That approach( depending on how he  maintains some level of conditioning) is a definite possibility.

Same difference.  I'll go with the apology angle myself.

Mindspin is the "Chad Nichols" of this board
(i will always listen to what he has to say)
my boy Larry (LLES) is the one guiding my brain dead ass into this show
what i have learned in a very short time is amazing
(posing,nutrition,being humble,weighing food,writing a daily food journal,restricting carbs,depleteing me etc etc)

and lovely Laura of course (cooking my chicken, training with me,giving me no BS assessment and advice
"your calves are non-existent!".....go deeper on those squats!!!u need legs!!!! etc)
if i could go back a year or 2 ago my advice would be ..."keep your mouth shut ignore the morons and use this board to learn!!!!.....pick Mindspins brain...jeffery's,Freaks,LLE'S....colossuss....bodyy8 8  etc  etc"

it was easy to throw some weight around .......eat a lot ....get big/bulky

this however is  Hard
(seperates the men from the boys right?)

peace................... MIKE

Mike you got this..... Keep busting you're ass and beat those legs until you cant walk. Honestly you seem to be on the road the get in awsome condition for this show.. Its a new Arvilla and I bet this time next year you will be a ripped 250 cruising into you're next contest.

Stay focused and keep busting you're ass you're results are becoming more and more pronounced. Get on that stair climber for some cardio sessions as the thousands of reps youre calves will have to do (along with you blasting them) will help them greatly..

Good luck mang!

I agree, Mike will not be able to benefit from a pre contest bounce for this particular show.  That's not to say that he cannot come in ripped, full & dry.

As for my metabolism it is actually more toward the sloooow side.  My abs completly disapear in off-season mode (like right now).  When I competed, I actually took 16 weeks to diet down for a show: 4 weeks to clean up my diet & bring back abs; 8 weeks to completly deplete & get shreded; 4 weeks to bounce back & fine tune.

As for the comparison to Chad "where's my kidney" Nichols thanks, but I'm not a big fan.  I think his forte is chemical warfare, of which I know little about.

Looking good Mike...keep it up!

If he listens & stays on track(& I think he will) he will come in like that. By the way , you looked like a friggin racehorse in your pics MS.

To put things in perspective for you, Mike - it took me 9 months (that's right, 36 weeks) to for my first show.  I had to go from eating Micky D's and Pizza Hut every night to eating turkey, chicken, and extra lean steak, rice, and veggies.  So it took me alot longer to get where you see me in my pic.  That's why I am so certain Larry's got you on the right track.

Thanks.  It seems like a life time ago.  Other than maybe preparing for and fighting in a MMA bout, I can't think of anything more grueling than prepping for a bbing show.

Agreed. 100%. I boxed for 4 years, some Martial Arts(enough to get my ass really kicked) , boot camp, air assualt school ( military) ect, ect , & preparing for a BBing show was the hardest, bar none.

Honestly if you do it right there is nothing harder and nothing will test your dedication more than prepping for a show.

hey mike keep it up and stay positive.think of this show as step one, just bring in the absolute best package you can.after the show you can look at pics and try to evaluate what you really need to work on and your goals for the next show.this is the forth year in a row i will be doing 2 shows and i learn more and more each time.i have always done my show prep on my own,but as you know i have luke wood doing my prep this year and he has taught me alot and i will definitely be my best ever.my shows on 28th may, might post some progress pics soon, the morons will rip them apart but that shit only motivates me. :)
