He tortured dogs by attaching wires to them and electrocuting them, picking them up and slamming them on the ground repeatedly, holding them under water, placed them on treadmills for up to 45 minutes at a time all while keeping them hungry to increase aggression. btw that statement of yours speaks volumes of you. in my opinion society can be judged on how they treat their children, elders and animals...

Agreed, 2 Amstels says that goof works some shitbag job and probably has never been more than 10 miles outside whatever shithole he lives in.  If Vick has simply fought dogs, I would have given him a pass and chalked the act up as a mistake.  I'm a huge dog lover and I have owned several pitbulls.  What Vick did was much more sinister than just fighting dogs.  He should never be forgiven and honestly, how can you think someone is stable who grabs a puppy and slams it on the ground until it dies?

Fuck that guy.

haha nice.

I have a Chihuahua-Pug mix, known as a "Chug" and a full pedigree Pug. The difference in price was like $400 between the mix and pedigree.

He killed a woman "who was 47 at the time of the accident [and] left behind a husband and a teenage son."  How on earth do people place animal cruelty above something like this?   ???

I will say that there are some crimes that I would never forgive (e.g., child molestation), but animal cruelty isn't one of them, particularly when someone is given probably the most severe punishment in American history for the crime.

Whichever team signs him (and I hope it's the Niners) will be fine.  People have short memories in this country, and they are very forgiving.

How do you not see the difference?  From the story:

He's the one who got behind the wheel of his Lincoln Navigator legally drunk. He's the one who ran a red light at a downtown intersection. He's the one who plowed into a much smaller car. He's the one who ended the life of Susan Gutweiler.

He intentionally got behind the wheel while drunk and killed an innocent human being.  He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.  This wasn't simply an accident.

We're talking about people vs. dogs here.  Night and day.

He didn't accidentally get behind the wheel while drunk and run over an innocent mother.   ::)  If it was an accident he wouldn't have been convicted of manslaughter.

TV wants Vick back.
He'll be a good story.
As much as people want to hate him - all the better.

I'm saying anytime a person gets behind the wheel of a car drunk and they kill someone it's not an accident.  Any adult with half a brain knows that alcohol impairs driving and is the cause of a plethora of deaths every year.  It's the height of recklessness to drive drunk.  It's Russian Roulette with other people's lives.

An accident is something completely unintentional.  Drunk driving, and a resulting death from drunk driving, doesn't fall in that category.  That's why he is a convicted felon.

It also impairs the ability to make rational decisions.  Earl has a point.  In the back of your mind you know drunk driving is wrong, but your intention is not to hurt someone.  In Vick's case, he tortured, mutilated, fought and killed dogs for many years.  Vick also threw family pets into dogfighting rings for a laugh.  I bet he wishes he could use a drug as an excuse for his actions.

I understand what he's trying to say:  Little didn't get in the car with the intent to kill that wife and mother.  I view it differently (as does our legal system).  If you engage in reckless conduct that you know can injure or kill someone, there is no "accident."  Getting drunk before going to a firing range and then "accidentally" shooting someone isn't an accident.  A car is just like a loaded weapon, but worse.

We're not talking about something in the back of our minds.  Drunk drivers kill thousands of people, including children, every year.  http://www.alcoholalert.com/drunk-driving-statistics.html

I don't think anyone is making any excuses for Vick.  What he did was terrible.  But if we're comparing him with Little, there's no question in my mind that what Little did was far worse.  I love dogs, but people > animals.

Agreed, but what Vick did was premeditated and without the use of a "drug" that can impair your judgement and decision making.  Of course the outcome was worse for little, but the intent was more sinister in regards to Vick.

exactly

what vick did was pure evil, he completely lacks empathy and compassion LIKE ALL TRUE CRIMINALS THAT BELONG IN CAGES

little was just an idiot that thought he was invincible, thousands drive drunk every single day, unfortunatly his stupid mistake cost somebody their life

there is no doubt Little is sorry, vick is only "sorry" because he got caught

the situations cannot be compared unless your football team sucks and you are desperate for somebody to help turn things around

I really don't buy that distinction.  No one forced Little to get drunk.  He knew driving drunk was illegal before he got behind the wheel.  He ran a light and plowed into an innocent wife and mother.  That really pales in comparison to Vick abusing dogs.

And just so I understand what we're talking about, it's whether Vick should be allowed to play in the NFL again right?  If so, I really think he has been punished enough.  Not really any grounds to permanently ban him with Little as precedent.

I'd feel the same way even if my team didn't suck.   :)

But someone get York a memo.  The Niners should be at the front of the line when Vick gets released.   :)

I whole heartedly agree. Betting on one or two dog fights is a mistake. Vick ran a WHOLE dog fighting circuit and killed innocent dogs. The only true remorse he has is that he got caught because if he didn't he'd still be doing it. Vick is a horrible human being. Little did what could happen to anybody and he isn't a habitual offender. Vick was. I think any team that signs him should burn.

No, drunk driving can't happen to anybody.  Neither can running a red light and killing someone because you are driving drunk.  It only happens to those who have a reckless disregard for other peoples lives.

I guess it's possible this was the first time Little ever drove drunk, but I doubt it.

There's alot more people with DWI's than people running dog fighting circuits.

Any GM in a team with losing record last season is desperate.

Body88 - Pats take him. Minimum salary. Do you stop following NFL / Rooting the Patriots.

LessthanAverage Joe ( since he doesn't follow NFL ) now knows Vick by name and might even wanna check just how good that dog molester is. Or atleast tune in for the highlights where Vick gets booed by the Dawgpound.

Executives love money more than dogs or morale.

Vick will play.
