So do you suggest we all drive VW Beetles or Toyota Corrollas? Or how about Fiat 500's? Yes they go from A to B, but there are many choices in how you do it

Do your thing man, but someday this current fad will get the same eye rolling as day glow pickups from the 80s.

Mods for performance I can see, but the absurd amounts of time, energy, and money that some guys spend on 'aesthetic' enhancements is absurd.

i have a question, for example you own a lambo or a bentley on the states, where can you push it to its top speed without getting a ticket like ronnie???

Probably Texas or Montana or any of the Midwestern States, where there is just nothing but miles, upon miles of lonely roads. Even on our crowded East Coast roads there are few but brief times you can open them up.

me, I'm not a modder, I firmly believe like Chip Foose has said that any mods need to stick closely to what the original designer of the car had in mind...Meaning mods that you can't detect, or flow with the lines of the car.

i agree, I believe the money spent on "aesthetics" could be money saved for more important things, and many times they make the car look worse. I hate seeing a 1993 day glow V6 Mustang on 24's, and all those Donks, Bubbles, etc, they make me throw up.

I'm just not a car guy, is what it boils down to.  Car guys strike me as otherwise unremarkable men who need a vehicle to create some sort of identity for themselves.  It's fucking weird.

If convicted, Coleman could face a maximum fine of $2,000 and spend 180 days in jail.

Like bodybuilders/  i get what your saying, my dad and uncles are car guys, I view cars as a hobby, but i have many interest besides cars...i believe it is healthy to cultivate a well rounded view of things. Dudes who are just car guys, like dudes who are just bodybuilders tend to lack in other areas, like social interacting, or knowing how to dress correctly for work (ie a suit, what type of suits there are, ties, etc)

Drop in the bucket for him, and the jail time...he might welcome it, it gets away from his wife...plus he might get back to seriously training..you see there is a positve to every  negative situation.

this has to be an interference with ronnie's comeback and reclaiming of the Mr. O title this year.  ::)

I'm a huge Ronnie fan, but he shouldn't try to be above the law. Hopefully this will calm him down. Luckily he hasn't hurt anyone yet.

Yes, the unbalanced.  The kid who spends every last penny on ricing up some POS and the midlife crisis man in the convertable with the car logo baseball cap & polo shirt.

I guess only the huge number of huge white guys getting arrested in bodybuilding is newsworthy???

hahaha.... read all the comments under the story from people who have gone through that area, I told you guys a couple days ago that DWG and Pantego cops are MAJOR dicks.

I still can't believe that Ronnie speeded AND tried to impersonate a police officer in their district....unbelievable .

yeah, he could have been slick and said something like "yeah, i'm sorry to speed, i understand the law, I used to be on the job myself, and old habits die hard."

They probably would have chatted about Arlington PD, local crime, his nice truck, etc.  Or worst case, he would have gotten a hefty ticket, which is about 10 minutes of signing autographs next weekend.

If they let him go people would bitch about the local PD.  They gave him a ticket and people still bitch.  Pretty lame.

Pro Bodybuilding has a tiny niche market.  Nobody has a clue who Ronnie is 'outside' the bodybuilding circle.  He is just another dumb, steroid shooting f@cktard to the masses.

Bottom line, Ronnie got caught this time.  -How long has been 'out there' impersonating the police and getting away with it?  Now that is the real question!

I hope he feels the full brunt of the law...In essence he is trying to bribe a law enforcement official.

And yes, i hope they get a warrant on his houses and cars.  Image the Aladdin's cave of illegal drugs and paraphernalia they would uncover!

lol what an idiot.

I hate cops, and I hate "cops" like Ronnie even more.

you are/were a policeman so you are above the law ?

go fuck yourself

X2...And Ronnie won't be driving a Bentley in the year 2011...His days are fooking number...This article is the beginning of the end of a scum bag cop who has no clue have to handle his m0ney and also who real police want in jail...He is no longer backed by anyone and is fooking doomed...Ronnie has put many people in jail for non violent crimes and now the tides have turned...

Bottom line is the guy has been a fcuking mess for years and we are all about to see it unfold in front of us...

RONNIE WILL BE DIVORCED BY THE YEAR 2011...And will look worse then Kovcas by the year 2008...Which was last year ;)

Famed bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman accused of falsely identifying self as police officer

01:59 PM CDT on Saturday, May 23, 2009

By BRANDON FORMBY / The Dallas Morning News
bformby@dallasnews.com

Famed bodybuilder and eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman was arrested Friday and charged with falsely identifying himself as a police officer.
Ronnie Coleman

During a traffic stop in Dalworthington Gardens, Coleman told a police officer, who had stopped him for speeding, that he was an officer in nearby Arlington, police said. Coleman then said he was a reserve officer and later said he was an officer for a hospital, according to police.

Dalworthington Gardens police Sgt. David Henderson said Coleman also produced a badge but that a records check indicated that he hadn’t been a licensed officer since 2003.

Coleman, 45, posted bail Friday and was released from jail.

You can’t continue living like you’ve got seven figure endorsement contracts and other lucrative deals when you don’t.

Hey, you hit the big time and were at the top for a while, great!
Treat yourself to a Bentley, or an H1, or a Merc, or a Beemer, etc., but not a fvcking "fleet" of all of the above.

Reminds me of some former NFL’ers who had the big $$ contracts and made in 5 years more than most people make in 30.
Then a few years into “retirement” they either file for bankruptcy or have to take regular jobs to support themselves.

Ronnie may not be there yet, but he needs to watch because it can happen to anyone.
