most guys are totally not into bbing lifestyle, dont eat extra protein and all that crap. yet they have big arms and chest.
lol I would agree they not totally into bbing lifestyle

but you can be damned sure they at some points in their life sit at home or in public wanting attention pondering how to get bigger, leaner n watever... that often results in some sort of action... people actually do get motivated and do achieve goals with effort... although I know it is natural within ourselves to downplay the self determination of others...

bottom line is no one in bodybuilding is worth looking twice at without a lot of effort... no matter what their schtick is... or lack of "seriousness"

I'll just save my money and get the real deal when i'm a bit older......

As someone "a bit older" and in that position, I can tell you that as long as you have insurance and no plans to do GH therapy you can save your money for something better.  $5 co pay for 10 ml's 8)  I about passed out the first time when I went to get my script filled.  I was shocked, and just thought about the days of having to pay 65-100 for that.

As far as the original point of Stav's thread....when I was in my late 20's was my best shape i was in.  Ate taco bell one time every day, and and two sensible meals and a protein drink for three other meals.  Did cardio maybe 2x per week.

When I started working out I read all the mags and took a ton of supps....some bought, and a lot that I luckily got for cheap or free from the health food store I worked at.  I was gaining at nowhere near the rate I was down the road, and the eating six times a day thing did nothing but inconvenience my life, left me with only spare change in my pocket, and feeling bloated as hell from about the second meal on.

The mags are trying to sell you products, and giving you the routines and diets (supposedly) that the pros follow.  Unless you have those types of genetics and are willing to take the kind/ quantity of drugs they use it is foolish to consider their route to success to be yours.  Many of us have fallen prey to it, but in this day of the internet and the exchange of free info it provides it shouldn't still be happening

Stavios,

What does your weekly lifting routine look like?  I'm getting tired of the high volume bodybuilding routine and I'm looking for short powerlifting type workouts a few times a week.

3-4 months ago I started not "giving a shit" about the bodybuilding lifestyle.

I drink 1-2 times a week.
I don't give a shit if I miss a meal here and there.
I only train for strenght, and I think it's much more fun and challenging

and guess what happened to my physique.....

FUCK ALL

I make the same "gains" I would have if I checked all my things religiously like I did before.

so fuck bodybuilding  :D
I feel like I missed a few good years of partying a bit with the friends

right now

monday:deadlifts
wednesday: bench
friday: squats
on the weekend: arms (only because they are my weak point or else I wouldn't do them)

I just try to get stronger on those lifts, the thickness comes along fine !

soon you will figure training at home with a modest humble bench/rack and some weights barbells and dumbells is as efficient as training in a "professional gym" with "professional equipment" ... (and professional losers everywhere trying to give some sens to their life sporting ridiculous tattoos and attitudes cause of their own shortcomings)

it might even suit you more not to have to play the role of the typical gymrat with a retarded attitude anymore and just enjoy doing your thing alone with yourself in peace. Nobody cares here, its just you and...you.

weight lifting is great for health, well being and discipline , its just all the retarded (and useless/extreme) stuff known as "fitness" or "bodybuilding" or "powerlifting"  surounding it that makes it suck. wether you train the bodybuilder/powerlifter/fitness fag way, your body is going to respond the same exact way and you ll have to be content with it. Being content of what you have and not wish constantly "more and more and more" with no end in sight.

It's all about lifting weights, feeling your body and enjoying it essentialy whoever you are and whatever the way you do it. Enjoying what you re doing right at the moment, and not projecting constantly yourself in the future, in a idealized ,dreamed future where you look like someone else you are not.

Its nice to come back to the basics and think about what made you enjoy the whole thing in the first place: just being here in a room and lift weights and feel your body transform itself under the influence of your will.  At some point the whole idea of a transformation / results isnt even the most important thing.
Who cares "how big" you end as a result of lifting weights, what matters is how it makes you feel, not what the others think of the results. What you think of yourself being conditionned by what the others say about your physique. Enjoy yourself, lift weights. Dont do it to please other people or you'll be their prisoner. Especially considering you dont really know, what they truly think as it s constantly changing.

Tons of reasons can make you look "bigger" or "smaller" from a day to another, but what is consistant and never changes and that truly matters, is how it makes you feel to be here, in a room with weights and just lift em.

Where does my wearing thongs under my Zubaz pants in case of a "spur of the moment guest posing" fit into all of this?

EXACTLY

I don't get what is the point of having a great physique if you are not going to go out and try and get some tail out of it

i'm as narcissistic as the next guy but i can only stare at myself in the mirror for so many hours without getting bored

Very true! I feel the same myself

just an observation that most juicers are weak-minded and lazy......I think you're proving my point :-\....It's alright, I like to party too. I just don't understand why someone who is'nt capitalizing on the benefits of gear(aka $$$) would take it. My only drawn conclusion is that they're weak-minded and overall lazy. Prove me wrong BIG GUY!
