Yeah, but that is 2009. Let's suppose it's 3 or 4 years from now, worst case scanario. Economy takes a dump. overhaul of $ system. Your services are rendered obsolete and your savings are reduced to toilet paper. You have bad luck, woman leaves you. You catch a few lawsuits. Slip and fall and break your hand, leg, arm, back, whatever. You get rear ended in traffic and end up sustaining a head injury leaving you mentally screwed up.
I mean, most homeless guys out there weren't homeless 30 years ago, ye know? There but for the grace of God goes any of us.
If bad luck hits you... you would still opt for bleeding out on the sidewalk as opposed to walking in for free healthcare that your tax dollars did pay for, all those years?
1. My business has been steady since 2002, with ups and downs like anyone else.
2. I diversify my assets so that if something goes down, someing else will probably go up.
3. My girl is a divorce lawyer and has her own $$$. Pre-nup in the works. We both want one.
4. I carry malpractice insurance and have a general liability policy as well as disability and auto.
I understand that you cant cover everything, but overall I have most of my bases covered. I operate on what is most probable to happen, not some scare tactic designed to get me into a cadicalla policy I dont or wont use in most cases.
Life is a gamble 240 - and you have to look at the odds.
