Healthcare reform is necessary.  Its only a small minority that wants to leave the status quo.  The left keeps making this a democratic plan vs. do nothing, which is incorrect.  
IMO, it was more important to address other issues and to concentrate on the economy this year.  The economy has stabilized but its not much better than it was when Obama first took office, we still have a long way to go and now the mounting deficit is horrendous.  Healthcare should have been left for 2010.  Obama pushed it because he knows he has the most power in 2009.

I was in several small central Ohio towns this weekend and though things were more simple, the people seemed happier.  I like living near the city but there's something to that small town atmosphere.  One thing I didn't see were Obama/Biden stickers...anywhere.  People in small towns in general rely more on themselves, their families and friends.  They tolerate taxes to pay for local gov necessities.  That was the original philosophy of our founders.

I live in a small town and in Milwaukee.  I have dual addresses b/c of my job-my employer provides me with an apartment and I work from home several days out of the week.

What is the alternative plan to the public option?  

We have a couple of big insurance companies that control the health insurance industry.  There is no real competition.  Everything the right accuses UHC of being is true of private care - it rations care, it limits doctor choice and it regularly denies claims.  What they forget is that without the public programs of Medicare, Medicaid and VA care, there would be no affordable private care.  There's no money insuring old dying people and uninsurable sick folks.

Obama is doing what he has to do to pass this watered down public option for insurance.  I don't care for the plan but it's all we have at the moment.

I got in the office at 7:00 am did what i had to do, and am waiting for a few other things to click today.  

Have fun billing those hours fool.  I hope you are not adding this time to your clients' time sheets!
