Nike denies relationship with Michael Vick - in trouble again
« on: September 30, 2009, 10:29:17 PM »
UPDATED 9:45 am EST Thurs:
Nike just told CNBC the company has NO AGREEEMENT with Vick.

They "supply product" to him... tha'ts it.

Mike Vick's agent is in hot water for announcing it!

Agent: Michael Vick reaches endorsement deal with Nike
 Source: USA Today

Once-disgraced quarterback Michael Vick has reached an endorsement deal with Nike, two years after sponsors abandoned him following his conviction in a federal dogfighting ring.

Mike Principe, the managing director for the BEST agency that represents Vick, announced the deal on stage at a forum run by SportsBusiness Journal. He would not reveal details about the deal.

"Mike has had a great relationship with Nike and is excited to be part of the Nike team again," Vick's personal agent, Joel Segal, told SBJ. Segal told the paper Nike and Vick had agreed not to discuss terms of the deal.

Vick will wear Nike clothing and use its equipment as part of the deal. The quarterback "has always been a fan of the brand and looks forward to the relationship," Segal told SBJ.

One of the most powerful ways to make change is as a consumer.

We can force big corporations to change.

Stop buying their products - simple.

If you dont give a sh*t about whats right and about animal cruelty, they by all means by Nike.....

do you know how much money Nike gave to charity last year? so you know which charities Nike gave the most the money(s) to?

do you know what marketing plan Nike is planning for Vick? what if they are planning to use Mike to bring about awareness to animal cruelty and to highlight their work in that area?

Yes, don't buy Nike, buy some other clothes manufacturer that is  just as guilty as Nike in having sweat shops in third world countries that abuse humans as well as animals.

Vick in trouble....again.

In response to the Nike thread...I felt it needed a thread of its own.

And I predict that this guy has not changed one bit.

People do not change, fundamentally.

He is steaming under his breath, trying to figure out a way to get back to his disgraceful, indecent deeds and lifestyle.

I predict he will get nailed for some type of crime. Just a matter of time.

Oh yes, and fuck Nike.

If it had been me or you, we'd still be in prison. And we WOULD NOT get our old jobs back.

The afletes get to 'turn the page', 'move on', and 'put things behind them'.

We do not.

Vick screwed up and lost 100 million dollars.

I hate the guy, but I think he's paid his price.

If he can do a lot to help animal cruelty awareness, good for him.

I guess this is growing up
