whats the beef with obamacare over there

we have a health service free at the point of use

it costs a lot of tax dollars to maintain

but is one the great institutions over here

Its been a giant clusterfuck to start. Odrama made it his big issue and after 3 yrs to set-up cant get the pile of shit off the ground.   And its not much like your system.  Essentially it forces people to purchase private insurance and if people cant afford to they are using tax dollars to subsidize it.    And the real kicker is our congress and senate are getting f'n subsidized by the taxpayers too.  Just a mess.

we have to pay national insurance which is just a posh word for a tax that pays for the nhs

people that are unemployed don't pay it and are probably the heaviest users

but imo a rich country should provide good health care for everyone no matter what their circs

This isn't a tax, we are being forced to buy insurance, either privately or through Obamas friends and if we don't we will be fined. So it is quite different than what you guys have set up.
