hi bones,.. where have you been??.. will you post new pics by june to show an improved version of you after those self owning pics you had posted as you promised??.. boooohahhahahahhahaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaa

Meh, I might and I might not. I managed to put on a decent amount of weight back in nov/dec but after that work hours messed up my workouts. I have been able to workout twice a week, if lucky. Now I have also been sick for several weeks. If I manage to get my shit together until June and make progress then yes I'll post pics.

You little fag, btw. I know you're going to start a thread on the 1st of june asking for my pics  :D

I remember back in the 90's when Dorian Yates was still big he was asked to try to close the #3 gripper at an Arnold Expo. He couldn't do it.

Cool, but on the other hand you wouldn't expect much else. I don't know if anyone without prior specific grip training closed a #3 on their first attempt.

This is pretty goddamn close though:

With a little bit of coaching and practice setting etc he could have most likely closed that thing.

Haha Ronnie's a good sport, that was pretty solid. He makes it look like a trainer.

http://www.heavysports.com/emag/April2004.html - Gunther Schlierkamp almost closed the HG 500 which was a 450-500lb range gripper. Interesting to see what he could do to the COC stuff.

After a workout, if I'm up for it, I'll do some kind of finisher stuff - mainly farmer's walks or maybe some bar hangs. If the weather is good, I'll do some odd lifts in my backyard - 100 lb sandbag carries around the house for time and distance. I got a this 120 lb boulder in my yard. I'll deadlift it, but it on the back of my pickup, then put it back down on the ground and repeat for high reps, my version of atlas stone event - fucking murderous. I've seen neighbors stare at me like I'm crazy, ha ha.

Not really good at the grippers, but I can close the #2.

Here's some cool stuff,

The gold standard of thick plates was the old Yorks. They ran around 2" thick at the rims. The best plate gripping I've heard of is Wade Gillingham, who can pinch 3 35lbs plates on a good day. On the original question, I've found thick grip barbell/dumbbell work to transfer the best to general gripping and support strength. Stick with 2- 2 1/2" thick bars, thicker severly limits your poundages.

Pinch and hub style lifting is more specific I find and should be practiced alone.

.

I love that site.
