Unfortunately, Okami, we don't get that here in the States. Seem like that is a Euro or UK only car. I gather that it is 4 cylinder. Off the top don't know the hp ratings, but I would gather you get great economy while getting the good 3 series chassis and interior and looks. the M sports all have distinctive body kits, wheels, firmer suspension settings. Chances are you are lookIng at the sedan, if not, go for the 118 hatch. Same engine...

Or you can wait fof the next gen cars to come in a few yrs and buy a used E90 318 M Sport because the price goes down. Or the next gen 1 series which is due next yr as a 2012. Also BMW has confirmed that they will build a FWD BMW---which means he end of the world is near!

The 318s stop coming to America because, Americans are badgewhores, and the 4 cylinders did not sell well with the hatch (318ti). Since the 3 is seen as a status symbol, nobody will fork over money foe a 4 cylinder.  But that might change, because 4 cylinders are planned for the next gen 1 series.

As a aside, I have seen a number of e36 3 series (mid to late 90s boxy 3 series) rebadged as M3s by their owners. Rebadging is the ultimate in wannabe poseurs.

Kinda like what Nasser did. They take the badge off their car, like a 318 or 325, and slap on a M3 badge. Of couse you can tell because of the bodypanels exhaust, mirrors, doors, wheels, brakes, and interior that it is not a M3. I have gotten into arguments on YouTube with a  dude who badged his 850CSi with a ///M symbol because the M Division developed the 850CSi, but it was not a full M car, plus his has a 6 liter. Then there are those who put "M8" on their 8 series, but there is only one M8, and it was a prototype.

Was reading a forum where a guy said he say a dude with a ///M on his 135i, said the guy wouldn't look at him.

Also, people will take the Sonata badge off of their Hyundai and put the Jaguar badge and hood ornament on their car. I have seen a Mercedes Benz SLK 230 rebadged as a 430 (with a V8)---it neither looked nor sounded like a 430, and at the time Mercedes didn't produce a SLK 430.

Yep, there is this video of Mexicans creating their own Beemer by putting on a Z3 front onto their Honda Civic, and their is a prevalance of some Mexicans to put the BMW badge on a Honda Civic. When asked why, the reply is "that means, Big Mexican Wiener".

To me it doesn't make sense, rebadging just shows your insecurity. So you can't afford a Jag, so you can't afford a M3, if you drive a 325 or 328-330, there are supercharger kits you can buy and bolt onto the car and you can beat a M3, while maintaining the sleeper look.

Yep Nasser supposedly owns a garage according to Team Nasser I'm suspect on that. Good info if he does this stuff he is dishonest and lost points in my eyes as well.

here's the real deal, except they didnt come with alpina wheels, nor alpina badging. The engine head cover did have alpina embossed on it, and they came with alpina bumpers and sills.

Yes, for most of them, the E46 M3 had the same engine as the Euro, but I believe due to emissions the US version made 333 vs 343. The E36 made a shit load less than the Euro version. The current E90/91/92 M3 US version is stated as making 414 hp, but in Europe 420.
But it works vice versa, the Corvette apparently makes less HP over there than here.


Yeah, that is stupid 350i. There is a vid of a guy with a BMW E36 M3 racecar and he put a 350 in it. Makes no sense. You ruined the car. But then there are those that do unholy swaps. Like in the Netherlands there is this guy who took a Mercedes SL (from the 90s)AMG and put in a 1500 hp e34 M5 motor in it. Another guy put a Lexus Twin Turbo V8 in a Nissan Silva

That's a nice car - I've been looking at the 320d ES SE model recently - heard good things about the fuel consumption and it's a strong possiblilty it's going to be my next car. I've got the money for the deposit and I'm also part-exchanging my current car, but I've still got to run a few tests on the internet to see how much my insurance is going to be before I commit myself.
