Yep done deal now.

And I think we've established that Vince Carter cannot guard Paul Pierce.

You're right, Phil is the man when it comes to the stats...but, he will never be as cool as Red was and people will never remember him like they remember Red. Red was cool.

I don't know how one could claim the Celts got a free ride, I think they've earned every win and or dominated.

completely agree.

but that doesnt take away the potential ratings bonanza that celtics-lakers would bring

Phil has the stats and the rings.  The Zen Master is pretty cool too.  He certainly saved my Lakers.

It's starting to feel like the 80s all over again.   :)

No doubt, Jackson has the rings and the stats. The Zen thing is pretty cool too, but he does not have 1/10th of the cool that this guy had, imo:

Listening to McHale.  He said if he was getting abused by Pau the way Stoudamire has been he would just hit him, if no other reason than to make himself feel better.   :)  They don't make them like McHale anymore.

Kobe and co are going to have trouble with Rondo if they play.

Two years ago, when the played, Kobe was getting beat on drives while trying to guard rondo off the dribble. Two years later, Rondo has established himself as one of if not the best point guard in the NBA, who has shown he can further elevate his game in the playoffs. His weakness is still his outside shot, but now that he can hit that shot at a decent percentage, and is border line unstopable off the dribble, I expect him to give the Laker's big time issues if they play.

With the way Allen and the Celtics are playing, I think they might win another title.

If the Celtics win it again, it would be a nice last hurrah for Garnett, Pierce, and Allen. Pretty sure the team will get blown up after the season. Too many aging vets.

Rondo is just flat out sick. A terrific penetrator off the dribble. Just can't comprehend as to how he can't be at least a 75% free throw shooter.

Practically every point guard in the league gives LA trouble.  Rondo is playing great, but he's not better than Williams from Utah.

The Celtics look very good, but the best player in the playoffs right now is Kobe Bryant.  Pierce has lost a step and Kobe hasn't, so I really don't see Pierce being able to slow Kobe down like he did a couple years ago.  Plus Artest will contain Pierce IMO.  Ray Allen can't guard Kobe either.

Pau is the best big man left in the playoffs and will give Boston trouble.  IMO, the missing link is Bynum.  If he gets his act together and shows up, the Lakers are very tough to beat.

I betcha Bynum is close to shutting it down for the season. His knee is hurt far more than he's letting on.

He was non existent in the last game against the Suns.

Speaking of which, I hope the Suns can win game 4 and tie this series. It needs a little intrigue. Lopez played great. That guy is a great free throw shooter for a bigman and he can score from outside.

Don't sleep on the Suns. It's not yet Boston/LA for the NBA finals.

Bynum got two quick fouls, which put him on the bench about two or three minutes in.  Then picked up four pretty early in the game.  He only played 7 minutes.

I really don't see the Suns beating LA in this series, absent an injury to Kobe or Pau.  LA is just a much better team.

Lopez killed LA yesterday.  So did Stoudamire, but I doubt he can put back-to-back games like that together.

No question LA is the better team. LA has the most talented team in the NBA.

But the Suns outplayed a much more talented team in the Mavericks and swept a savvy veteran team like the Spurs(who would have given the Lakers some trouble had they played).

The Suns have a shot. They win game four and the pressure goes right back to LA.

Steve Nash deserves a ring. Kobe has four. Give the whiteboy a goddamn ring, for christs sake!

They definitely have a shot, but I just don't see it happening.

Nash is a great player.
