paul is a great player no doubt
I am NOT as pissed off at LAL as I usually am after a loss.  It must be the diet.

They definitely have a shot, but I just don't see it happening.

Nash is a great player.
Nash is a fag!

I hope the Suns can steal a win in LA. Unlikely, but if they pull it off.......they can close out the series in Phoenix.

Definitely unlikely.  I think we see a repeat of the Thunder series, where the Lakers get their act together in games 5 and 6 and start playing defense.

I think the Suns in the Finals would be a ratings disaster.

Which is why if game 5 is tight game, you can expect Kobe to get the superstar calls from the refs down the stretch.

Why would the Suns in the finals be a ratings disaster? The Suns play an entertaining brand of basketball and Steve Nash is a 2 time MVP. I think a Celtics/Suns finals would be great. Or better yet, a Suns/Magic final would be entertaining as hell to watch.

Personally, I feel that the Lakers will crush the Celtics in the finals if they met.

Kobe does not get superstar calls.  That's why he gets T'd up so much.  And he doesn't need the calls.  He's playing as well as he can possibly play right now.

The Suns would be a ratings disaster because they don't have a huge fan base.  Nobody cares about the Suns.  They don't have the superstar players to draw ratings from casual fans.

I think LA beats Boston in the Finals too.

Crush? Care to wager? That's a bet I know I can win.

Edit: Boston just got done smoking the magic, who were the best team in the NBA. The Celtics are by far playing the best D right now. Imo, the western brand of basketball that's been played thus far has been soft. The Celtics have a lot of weapons, and with Robinson catching fire tonight, that's another problem the Lakers would have to account for.

Crush? That's border line laughable, imo.

Alright, so "crush" is a bit harsh. But I do feel that this Lake team is much better than the team Boston played in the '08 finals.

LA just has so many bigger bodies and a deeper bench. I just think Boston will have to rely too much on their starters to play extended minutes. Wallace is worthless. And Robinson had one good game in the playoffs.

I hope Boston can pull the upset. I always root for the older guys.

I agree.  Except for the rooting for Boston part.   :)

Plus KG has lost a bit and Pau has gotten better.  LA replaced the space cadet Radmonovich with Artest.  Kobe is at the absolute top of his game.  The Lakers should get 20 minutes from Bynum, who didn't play in 08.

And keep in mind LA did win two games in 08 and had a 20+ point lead in another that they lost, before getting crushed in game 6.

LA just needs to handle their business against the Suns.

And Boston is a better team with the emergence of Rondo as one of the best point guards in the game.

Wallace proved he is not worthless at the start of the Magic series, imo. He also played well in the first playoff series.

Boston is going to pose some series match up problems for LA. You put Artest on Pierce, Kobe on Rondo (who was getting smoked off the dribble 2 years ago and since then Rondo has become a much better player)...Pao has to deal with KG; who is going to take Allen?

Nate Robinson has caught fire, Perk and Baby did well against the best center in the game and Wallace can contribute if he turns it on.

Lastly, the Celtics are playing the best d out of everyone right now, and just disposed of "the best team in the NBA" in a pretty dominant fashion.
Imo, the Laker's have a tall task beating a highly motived Boston team.

The Celtics have a lot of weapons to throw at the Lakers, and they are playing much better D.

This Celtics team is better than the 08 team, also. Rondo has improved to become one of the best pg's in the NBA. Baby and Perc have matured...Allen is on Fire (he was not in 08) and KG has more than enough to match or come close to the lama. Wallace has played well and gives the Celtics some big time length and a 3 point threat, plus you just had Robinson show he can contribute in a big way.

The Celtics just disposed of the best team in the NBA in a pretty dominant fashion...while the Laker's are still fighting off the Suns.

If they play, it goes 7 games, imo.

Edit: This was in response to your post beach...forgot to qoute, ha-ha.

Wallace has played well in stretches, but is inconsistent.  Nate Robinson has played one good quarter in the playoffs.

The only matchup problem I see for LA is Fish on Rondo.  Perkins doesn't score.  KG is scoring what about 15 a game?  He's not the KG from 2008.  Pierce will score, but Artest will keep him from scoring 30 IMO.  Kobe will guard Allen.

The Celtics played great D in four out of the six games against Orlando.  I think LA beats Boston (if LA makes it the Finals), but it will be a tough series.

Why do you say Orlando was the best team in the NBA?  They were my pick to probably win it all this year going into the playoffs, but I was wrong about them.

No worries.   :)  I really disagree.  You're not acknowledging the matchup problems LA poses for Boston.  Who guards Kobe?  KG will have his hands full with Pau.  Kobe and Pau are the best 1-2 punch left in the playoffs.  Also, although I'm really down on Bynum, he didn't play in 08.  (You could say that about a couple games in the Suns series too where he was MIA.)

I don't think this Boston team is better than 08.  KG is not the player he was then.  Pierce was the best player in the playoffs in 08.  This year it's Kobe.  I wouldn't put too much on what Pierce did in the Orlando series, because Vince Carter couldn't guard my mother.  I seriously doubt Pierce will work Artest the way he did Carter.

You think winning a series in six games is a dominant performance?  I don't.  Boston dominated Orlando for three games and then lost two in a row.  If LA beats the Suns in six will that be a dominant performance too?

Gotcha. I read your original post, that lacked any pro Boston points, so I assumed I was supposed to state my opinion as to why you were undervaluing the Celtics improvements.

This song is older than me, but a great segway for the game. Don't fear your fate, Beach...embrace it  ;D

Agreed.

Fast forward to 1:50 - 1:51 of that video. That is beach firing up the Lakers crowd.

I'm down on Nantucket Island right now, and I've been jamming out to various classic rock tunes. Great vibe/beach party music.

Check this out:
