That's one man's opinion. I sort of understand the sentiment. Ron Paul supporters did the same thing in Hawaii. Very aggressive and vocal minority. It's really paper thin support across the country.

I have no idea. Was it Ron Paul? Still won't matter. He didn't raise enough money to be a contender in 08. He got all of 1 percent of the delegates in the primary. Anyone taking a realistic look at him knows he's never going to even be a serious contender, much less get elected president.

The fact these straw polls, etc. showing he wins or is a serious contender are proven to be worthless when you look at the election results.

Don't know. You'll have to ask him. Nevertheless, Romney didn't even show up and he still won. As the clips in another thread mentioned, past winners of straw polls include Phil Graham and Bill Frist. RP isn't even in their territory as far as electability goes, and neither of those two were ever going to be get elected.

I would get behind Ryan too. He is a realist and not some pie in the sky bs artist like obama.

are you kidding, I can find 2 dozen presidents from the past that look more haggared than Ron Paul. The reason Ron Paul can get away with it at an other age is that he's never deviated from his message. Listen to the Ron Paul tapes from the 80's and it's the same as now. These are extreme constitutional basics. He would be fine for 4 years governing on what he has spent most of his life preaching. He's not like 98% of these other clowns that are not sure what's coming and going, changing their message to fit as the times change. Ron Paul has remained constant. Even if he lost his mind, he would still remember the basics which is all he's put forth for so many years.

IF Ron Paul runs, I will this time register republican to vote for him in the primary and for president.

Oh and show me a debate Ron Paul has came out looking like shit in? You say he isn't good in a debate. I've watched him debate with so many I can't count them and I have never felt he lost. I voted for Pat Buchanna in the primary too when he ran. I like Pat B alot.

Ron Paul is great in debates. He made McCain look like an idiot on economics, and he made Juliani look like an idiot in foreign policy. He defended himself well against attacks, and he made it look like he was the only true Republican standing there, among all the other Republican candidates.

No, I can't accept this "can't win" message anymore. You're not supporting him. I will switch parties to vote for him and I will send him money and if he wins the primary I will vote for him. That's supporting him. That's what I failed to do last time. I will not make the same mistake again.

Again, please show me a debate Ron Paul lost? Please show me a debate where Ron Paul looked bad? And keep in mind that the media attacks on Ron Paul are huge, they have many times tried to set him up to make him look bad but he still answers the questions in a calm manner that makes them look like fools.

I know age matters, but we all know age is not an absolute. Some people lose it with age, some go to their graves at 98 sharp as a whip. The reason age mattered with McCain is because he was absolutely showing it in every manner. I do not see that with Ron Paul. He can snap off the same asnwer to a question that he gave in the 80's. And that's consisitency. He has that above all other candidates. With Ron Paul, you fucking know what you're going to get. It's a message he's maintained his whole life. No other candidate out there has that going for them.

So in the next election, you can find yourself between shitty candidate A and shitty candidateB or you can actually have a choice to finally pick a person who has maintained a singular message for his entire career in politics, RON FUCKING PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point what you're really saying is that you're submitting to what the media tells you needs to happen.

Hugo - there is a Ron Paul clip I posted a few months ago with a debate with him and Kanjorski on CNBC that was like 12 minutes long. After seeing that clip, that is when I became a fan. And another thing, notice how people here who are usually opposed on stuff end up uniting behind Ron Paul. That's an important factor to consider. Ron Paul has never lost as much as the media has beat him. Now we can say, why vote for Ron Paul because he can't get the media behind him, or we can collectively say, fuck the media and vote the man in!!!!!!!!!

Really, can you remember a time where so many from both the left and rightwing spectrum united behind a person with this kind of passion? If that's not something to build on, then there never will be!!!!!!!

Ron paul is good...Was my choice for president...However, i don't see him having a chance against the Hawaiian Salesman..
