Heck, I am in a very similar boat. Failed marriage, a few kids taken across the country then brought back, alcohol problems, drug issues, rehab, a bad back injury, and a new love for a few large Domino's pizzas have forced me to need to lose 95 pounds while regaining muscle that I lost while my injury was treated.
It is a big mountain to climb, but every day I get a little closer weight wise, and every 3 days I lose a pound or more, sometimes 3-5 in a week unpredictably.
Of course I just count calories, eat what I want, and use 4 weight workouts a week and when strength stops I deload and start over.
The point is that I was like that, ashamed to go out in public, so I know how it feels. I have lost 29 pounds of that 95 since mid February, the day before Valentines. Everything looks better, and I was finally green lighted to train again a few weeks ago. Muscle seems to be coming back really fast, and everything looks like it is going to be great for the first time in a long time.
I hope Keith ends up happy and healthy. In the end that is all we should want.
